Akassia Swiss Resort

The hotel and surroundings are amazing. Pleasant staff, good food. The rooms, if you don't pay attention to the details, are nice. Aquapark great. The sea and corals in it are also nice. A large offer of trips. I definitely recommend the hotel.

We came to Akassia for one week in July with two small kids. I booked the hotel based on the beautiful pictures and good reviews on tripadvisor. Looking back i really don’t understand how there are so many good reviews. Here is my honest feedback on our stay: The first dinner at the hotel we were unpleasantly surprised. There are so many people. Most of the plastic tables and plastic chairs are outside in 35 degree temperatures. The service is terrible. If somebody brings you drinks, then you’re lucky. If the glasses are clean and you even have some ice cubes, then you really won a lottery. The guy who cleans the tables just leaves his car with garbage bin next to the tables where people are eating. The food had no variety at all. Because it was so hot, I only wanted salads. But there was nothing i could eat. It looked like it was all rests of food. Not once have I seen a simple green salad or greek salad at the buffet. Desserts is another story. I walked by a couple of times, but it wasn’t even presented nicely. Cakes piled up on top of each other. At lunchtime its self service, so you need to get your own drinks. At all bars you need to pour your own drinks except for alcohol. Ice cubes were often finished. In the main restaurant there isn’t even an ice machine, so we would need to go to the pool bar to get ice for our drinks. Also you cannot get bottles of water at any bars. They are all extra charge. The rooms are fine. Though it could be much cleaner. Internet exists but doesn’t work properly. I couldn’t even watch instagram reels and stories. Aqua park is fun but so old. The floors are covered with old rotten carpets. The paint faded out a long time ago. It doesn’t look like the picture anymore. Of course there is no elevator, so get ready for the stairs. There are a lot of swimming pools. But they don’t look so new either. My son cut his toe open on a tile at olimpic swimming pool. Sun beds are probably older than I am. The territory is not very clean. Everywhere i saw cigarettes on the floor and other garbage. Broken tiles, lamps etc. Public toilets are just disgusting. I haven’t seen a clean one in a week time, so i very much tried to avoid it. Almost every evening the gardens would be watered with very smelly water. The smell spread to our room and it was terrible. Hotel is very big. Its partially combined with Akassia Beach. The swim up bar next to the aqua park would only serve us for extra charge. Get ready to walk a lot. Or you can wait for the “bus” at the busstop. Once we were waiting for over 20 minutes. Is you need a doctor, please be aware that a consultation costs are 150,-€. And they won’t tell you upfront. I came to ask if I was able to swim with my cut on the foot, after they put some creme on it (which I told I had in the room already) they charged me 50,-€ (without telling upfront). I didn’t want to pay and needed to take off the bandage they put on my foot. There is a huge amount of people at the hotel. So every show

We got ultra all-inclusive package at Acassia via local travel agency. This was my first time in Egypt and I was warned by my partner that I would be disappointed with the facilities and service as I often stay in fancy hotels in Europe and US. Since agent was not able to provide the information on the difference between all inclusive and ultra all-inclusive package, I e-mailed the hotel directly. I received swift response detailing all information from Hosni - Guest Relations Manager. I used the same channel to book airport transfers and again experienced fast, efficient and very professional service. Hosni greeted us on arrival and since it was close to end of dinner time, he took us straight to the buffet, so that we could eat before we register with the front desk. He then escorted us back and helped us to complete the check-in and explain details of our package as well as the meal times and location of all attractions available in the resort. Our room was newly refurbished with the terrace overlooking the sea and one of the pools. It was set-up nicely with fresh fruit on arrival and extra bed for our son. We also visited other rooms, where our friends were staying, on the other side of the resort, close to the aqua park and they were also quite nice. The resort is huge and perfect for family vacations. The aqua park has gigantic slides, pool with waves and the olympic pool. There are so many different pools, restaurants and bars, that it is difficult to visit all of them during one week stay. There is also a diving centre, tennis courts, spa, billiard, sports bar (which was helpful as our stay fell during the Euro Cap) and two kids’ clubs. In the evening there are some performances. They are really classy and entertaining. There is also disco with the special program for children starting at 20:00 each evening. Hosni has been very helpful throughout our entire stay - booking tables in the restaurants as well as in front of the main stage. We are a family of 3, but there were 13 of our friends staying at the same time, so we had large table close to the stage and the main bar booked for us couple days in the row and a waiter - Hasan who was introduced to us by Hosni as the person who will be looking after us. La Vista restaurant had a great service, we also tried Panorama - the Egyptian restaurant. The food was good in both of them, but I must admit that I enjoyed all meals including the main buffet, especially the feta cheese, tomatoes and olives, which I had for breakfast, grilled meats and fish available at dinner and lunch, oven baked pita and other kind of local breads and variety of fresh fruits and sweets. For kids there were French fries, chicken nuggets, pasta station with great spaghetti bolognese, which my 6yo eat two portions of. Even though all attractions were listed on the board, Hosni kept reminding us about daily schedule via WhatsApp and checking if we needed a dinner reservation daily. I must say that

Hotel is ok, but there are many better ones for same price. Pros: nice garden, several nice pools, aquapark (old but still), nice coral reef from 2 jetties. Cons: far far away from anything, rooms are old and in bad condition, long walking to bars, mixed with neighbour hotel, limited selection of drinks, poor evening activities, not even a welcome drink when checking in (looong waiting). Food was OK for a week, but I wouldn't want to stay longer on it. Alacayre restaurants booked few days in advance (not one).

Everything was amazing and exceeded our expectations from the moment we stepped in the lobby. Mr. Wael went above and beyond to make our dreams come true and to make our vacation truly unforgettable! All the staff are smiling and very friendly and tried their best to make us happy. Well done Akassia resort team for the great effort.

Good quality hotel. Highlight is definitely their offer for scuba diving. Their doctors make you feel especially safe. Dr. Al Sayes and his assistant were true saviors. They responded in a quick manner and i was back on my feet within days. I think everyone wants to be in thr best hands when something happens.

We Are 5th time in this hotel. And we Are so happy here every time!! We love the animation team! The room Is amazing with great view. The reaf Is great the lifeguards help US with swiming with the fish! The food Is good. We Will definetly come back next year!
