Smy Sighientu Thalasso & Spa Sardegna

Fabulous friendly staff on reception/waiting staff and a spacious environment however the food was terrible, lack of choice and flavours. I work for an airline so I go on several holidays a year to many hotels all over the world. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, they need a free shuttle into town every hour like other remote hotels I’ve stayed at. The pool Cafè only offers pizza or ham and cheese sandwich, literally that’s it, no salads or veggie/chicken option., I’m hungry as there is nothing to eat without dairy or red meat I would not stay here again.

2-3 star food - remote location and no choice of shops & restaurant for lunch - if half board option Staff friendly and generally clean, but dated very 1980s in decor and not in touch with the current tourist / traveller requirement's. I don’t think the hotel warrants a 4 star status due to the limited basic food provided Definitely a 3 star at best, I think the spa and pool pictures gives the impression of quality but dated and shabby now

We had a lovely holiday in May in Sighientu resort. Very nice hotel, just 40 min drive away from Cagliari airport. The food was very good, every day was a different choice of food, very well cooked and full of flavour. Loved it. Big beautiful swimming pool, very clean and plenty of Sun beds. The sea is very clean with crystal clear water. Staff in the hotel was lovely and very helpful. The room could be decorate better, the walls were empty and lacking style. If you are going to stay in this hotel, I would highly recommend to hire the car as there is nothing outside of the hotel near by. You need the car to go anywhere - No bars, no restaurants, nowhere to walk to, just long streets of private villas. We had the car, so we could travel to other places. Enjoyed our stay!! :)

The best part: pool!!! Lots of sunbeds! 4 nights stay...I booked this hotel for a family break whilst exploring different areas in Sardina. One of the feature is its own beach, which was very disappointing. Full of seaweeds and stoney. Parking: outside the hotel and an overflow area. Rooms: booked 2 rooms, 1 for me and my husband and 1 for our adult boys. Our room was on 3rd floor, which were spacious but lack useful furnitures. The digital lock did not work so normal key to use which sounds loud. A phone which supposed to be used to call reception did not work either. There's small smelly fridge and a safe. On the plus side, there's a huge lounge area outside the few rooms and a huge terrace area but only enjoyable in the evenings as too hot during the daytime. Boys room was in 2nd floor which is smaller than ours and smelled unpleasant. Has a bath tub. Ants in some areas of both rooms. The housekeeping lady gave me a bottle of antspray... sorted! No kettles in rooms and ac has only one temperature setting. Breakfast: We only booked the breakfast and not opted for all-inclusive as we planned to try different restaurants in evenings. Buffet Breakfast choice is the same everyday. Not the best quality but a nice coffee bar with barista made up up for the poor quality food available. There were fruits available both fresh and from tins. Juices from machine ( watery or sugary). There was always something to fill you up like yoghurts, cakes eggs and bacons etc. Same restaurant is used for lunch and dinner. Pool area: Entertainment around the pool except lunchtime- 15.00. Pool size is very good and clean. The pool bar is attached to the pizza restaurant ( only open at dinner). That's only bar that serves the whole hotel. Quite expensive for drinks and snacks. Spa area: costs extra 20 eur per 2 hrs ( indoor pool and a smaller pool outside the gym). Reception: Helpful receptionist. No bar just a water station. There are no machines to get softdrinks or coffees after 12 midnight. Restaurants in the area: Victory... next to hotel. It serves local dishes, mostly seafood. Nice dishes but slightly pricey. Mammai's... abot 10-12 mins walk located by the main road, also a seafood restaurant. Green Pizzeria by the main road is the same distance. Mini COOP next to Mammai's about 8 mins walk. Good place to get snacks and drinks from. It's 30 mins drive to Cagliari; 15 mins drive to Poetto which has nice long beach and close to McDonalds. There are few nice beaches nearby. But you would need a car. Villasimius is about 45 mins away by car. There are buses both to Cagliari and Villasimius from outside mini Coop. Always check your booking as this hotel charge compulsory fees for using towels, gym, main pool, to be paid on check-in. You are given a watch-like bracelet to use when paying for something in the hotel like drinks, etc. Overall, this hotel is in a nice setting, by a marina but is definitely in a 3 star standard.

A fantastic resort in a great location in southern Sardinia - well-maintained, with a beautiful garden, large pool, kids' area, as well as a private beach and friendly English-speaking staff :) The All Inclusive food is very tasty and diverse, with both meat and vegetarian options, daily seafood, local dishes, fruits and vegetables, as well as sweets, ice cream, and delicious freshly brewed coffee in the morning! The location itself is about a 30-40 minute drive from Cagliari airport. Nearby are the most beautiful beaches and bays on the island, and it's also close to Villasimius and Costa Rei.

Average place, not close to the name “resort”. Basic rooms, cold inside. In the bathroom kitchen towels, instead of the normal baths (except the one for a shower). In the room we missed at least a glasses, not mentioned some other equipment, which is a standard in every European hotel for two stars or more. And kindness of a personality-it’s fake. They are just there. Not for a help, but because they’re must be. Give yourself a favor, find a better accommodation for the same price.
