Hotel Acadia

Hôtel Acadia is a very special place in Old Quebec. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a warm, inviting and romantic flare. We stayed in the same room, on the same date in October, 15 years ago when we were engaged. Room 101 is very special. We will return again!!

We booked online and the room looked nothing like the website or this website! It was much smaller and a bit cramped. Could only get one station on the TV to work and it was in French. Having said that, the staff was nice and our stay was comfortable. Location is excellent!

Disappointed with lack of aeration and heavy humid smell.can’t open windows and be careful to not heart yourself when walking because the floorboards are all coming off. My husband and I both left with heavy migraines.

We stayed in the L'Hermitage building, which is across the street from Hotel Acadia. Our room was beautiful, with high ceilings and intricate plaster work on the ceiling. The beds were very comfortable. We were on the first floor, facing the street, which was initially worrying, however we had no problem with noise or a feeling of privacy. The location is perfect, in walking distance to key areas in Old Quebec City. The only unfortunate aspect was that the staff did not tell us about the hot tub and terrace until we were leaving. IMPORTANT: There is no elevator and the stairs are steep and narrow.

We had a nice stay at hotel acadia for 4 days. We were visiting for a mother daughter getaway. I was a little worried because of some of the recent very negative reviews, I can see the reason for some of them but people need to manage their expectations when booking a hotel at a cheaper rate. I would say this is a budget hotel, this is reflected in the price and the hotel itself, although I can see they are starting some renovations. This hotel definitely has a lot of potential. I wish I could give 3.5 stars, but I thought 3 was too low, so I gave 4. Here are some pros and cons Pros -Very friendly reception staff -beds were super comfortable! -great location -we booked a superior room with 2 beds, this was a nice size and had a charming quebec feel with the fireplace and brick wall. -free breakfast every morning at sagamite when booking through their website. Food was really good. -water machine and cappuccino/espresso machine in lobby, with Keurig in room. No charge to use these. Cons -cleanliness: we did feel cleanliness was lacking. There was visible dust on the vanity shelving and the bathroom just didn't seem clean, black mold on the tiles. The bathroom was dated and could use an update. Made me question the cleanliness of everything else. -no housekeeping throughout our stay -no wifi or TV for the duration of our stay in the room, they said it was being fixed but it never was. -hot tub not working, and I don't think it has been for a while. It shouldn't be advertised! -when we checked in they told us that there was a drip in the bathtub that they "couldn't get fixed before we checked in". We looked at the tub and there is a visible mark from it dripping for a long period of time. Don't be dishonest with your guests. Overall it was a good stay, we paid $150 a night with breakfast included for a superior room and I am happy with the value we got. Anything more expensive I would have been dissapointed.

Ça fait plusieurs années que je connais cet établissement. Hôtel très bien situé dans le vieux Quebec. Toujours eu un super service et les chambres toujours bien entretenues. Par contre, depuis le changement d’administration c’est horrible. Je loue une chambre et un studio pour un séjour en famille de 3 nuits avec mes enfants jeunes adultes. Le soir qu nous sommes arrivés. Le four ne fonctionne pas. Le technicien vient. On réussi a le faire partir mais il s’arrête régulièrement. Ils nous disent alors small et faire chauffer les choses dans le studio à côté qui est en réparation. Misère!!!!. Ustensiles inexistantes, pas de verres. Je dois toujours enlever le réservoir de la toilette et jouer dedans car sinon elle coule toujours. Toutes les télévisions de l’hotel n’avaient aucun signal. Le support de la douche de la chambre est tellement rouillé qu’il s’est brisé. Les employés font leur possible mais il y a tellement de plaintes à l’arrivée des clients qu’ils sont débordés. Le lendemain je demande de changer de studio, chose qu’ils m’accorde des 8h30 le matin. Donc il n’y avait personne dans l’autre studio la veille et ils nous avaient pourtant dit qu’il n’était pas disponible. On change de studio. Même si le studio en dessous de nous était en réparation, nous aimions mieux avec le bruit durant le jour que un four et toilette qui fonctionne pas. J’ai demandé un dédommagement pour tout le trouble, incluant le changement de toutes les choses d’un studio à l’autre. Rien à faire. C’est désolant mais c’est la dernière fois à cette hôtel qui a pourtant un grand potentiel.
