Carlota Sustainable Design Hotel

I recently travelled to Quito and stayed at the Carlota hotel. The staff (particularly Paola) is excellent. You really appreciate things when all is going well but when it is not , that is when it really counts. On my trip , i had my family of 6 with me. My sister got very sick on the flight down and needed extra service and care while in Quito. The Carlota staff took very good care of us and Paola made sure that my sister was safe and could return back to the states easily. The extra service and care was so appreciated that I can not thank her enough. I would stay at the Carlota hotel next time I come to Quito. I would give this hotel your consideration if you are travelling here. The hotel is nice and clean, can have breakfast and dinner there, and they will truly look out for you.

We took our teenaged kids (13 and 16) to South America for the first time and could not have chosen a better place to call home for our days in Quito. As an Architect I loved how well the original structure was reimagined. As a family we loved our incredibly friendly hosts (Paula and Juan Carlos in particular - gracias). The facilities were at once highly polished and yet quaintly of their place - including the ground-floor bistro that served up the tastiest daily breakfast we could have imagined. Carlota's location within the Old Town made it incredibly easy to safely explore the city on foot - something we highly recommend to any parent looking for a reprieve from screen-time requests:).

Stayed at this hotel after being in Ecuador to visit Yasuni National Park (the Amazon) and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a home base to explore Quito. Location: right in the heart of the historic center of Quito. This was our favorite area of the city of the neighborhoods we explored. Service: excellent, excellent. Staff was so helpful! Amenities: props to the restaurant for their good food and very generous portions. Rooftop bar has an amazing view! Rooms: pretty small and basic, but no real issues with our room at all.

After six months of researching hotels in Quito, I’m thrilled that I chose the Carlotta Hotel. The property was immaculate, and the rooms had a charming, nostalgic feel. The service was exceptional; they addressed all my questions even before booking and assisted with transportation and recommendations throughout our stay. Angélica and Miguel went above and beyond by waiting up late for our arrival. The rooms were fantastic with clean, crisp linens, and though the bathroom was small, the overall atmosphere was cozy. The high ceilings, exposed brick, and shutters added to the charm. This was one of the most delightful stays I’ve experienced, capturing a genuine Spanish ambiance in a quaint setting. After exploring other small hotels, we decided to cancel our subsequent reservations and return to the Carlotta Hotel. We stayed in both the Loft and the Camporia rooms and loved every moment. The bisto was always yummy and the service and chef was so attentive and caring! We enjoyed ceviche, steak and of course red wine both at the restaurant and rooftop bar.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Quito. Staff were remarkably friendly and inviting. Situated two minutes from the center of Old Town in Quito. Food at their restaurant was excellent and they accommodated our vegetarian diets. The rooftop has a 360 view of the city perfect for having evening drinks. Clean, comfortable, would highly recommend!

Very comfortable and modern hotel in the center of old town. Friendly and helpful staff, great food, clean room and premises. Would stay again for sure. The roof bar has an epic view of Quito, and there is a nice restaurant inside with Ecuadorian food
