Lovely units - fitted out professionally. Lots of activities for Adults and Children - indoor heated pool, Kids Zone, Wall Climbing, Fishing, Abseiling, Putt Putt and more. Lovely food served at the Maluti Melt Restaurant. Easy drive to Clarens -

We booked a 2 night stay at Kiara Lodge. Check in is at 15:00 and we arrived at 14:45. We were then informed that our room wasn't ready. After 15 min we returned to reception, only to find out that our room was actually ready but... another couple went to see if they liked to room because they didn't look the room they were given - ok. 5 minutes later, the couple returned stating that they would not take the room and wanted to speak to a manager. We were then passed the key to room 50C. This chalet was situated right next to the bar lounge area, quite close to the indoor pool area. As we entered, we noticed that huge damp patch above the kitchen ceiling and a terrible damp smell throughout the chalet... the couches were also disgustingly dirty! We complained and returned to the reception. After some fighting, they begrudgingly gave us the keys to room 43C. This chalet was at the top of the hill, overlooking the entire resort with spectacular views. A real beautiful chalet (could do with a little TLC and maintenance). I don't think the reception informed the cleaners that the room was to be occupied hence there was no tea, coffee etc and a very smelly dirty plate. We've been to Kiara lodge a few times now and looking at the current downward trend, I feel worried for the resort.

Kiara Lodge is nested 14 kms away from picturesque Clarens village and very close to Golden Gate National Park. On the flip side: Some additional efforts could be done by the facility manager to improve cleanness of the accommodation. Yes, vacuum cleaning needs also to be done under the beds.... Do not forget your sweaters and jackets. Although comfortable the chalets might not be heated to the level you like.... On the upside Activities nearby, activities on the premises, hiking, a lot to do. Good bar and restaurant on site. A perfect gate-away for a family weekend with good value for money

My wife and I check in on Friday the 27th July for a 7 night stay expecting a romantic vacation with warm log fires, in door pools and beautiful Mountain View’s. What we received was freezing cold (in the middle of winter,) insufficiently stocked (no forks) unit, with a leaking shower and a couch which was falling apart. There was no log fire, and only a tiny heater. When I asked for another heater I was told they don’t have any extra heaters and there is nothing they could do. The couch was also falling apart see the pictures. The next day I complained and was told the manger would contact me . . . I was not contacted. When I went to complain again it was as if they knew nothing about my 1st complaint. I am extremely dissapointed with this lodge and would not recommend it at all.

The spa is vey relaxing. Calm and comfort the pillows is so soft and fluffy. The service there is quality for your money. The staff is friendly and very patient. Communication is very good . It is a place that I will definitely visit again very soon.
