Royal Horizon Boa Vista

The TV was not repaired during the entire stay It was leaking from under the bathtub Air conditioning barely working The waiting time for luggage after arriving at the hotel after being informed that they would be in the room within 10 minutes arrived after an hour, and my friends' luggage was lost and found after 1.5 hours. The toilet flush broke every day and there was no water in the room Travel agency with trips in a hotel "only for guests from Italy" Monotonous performances of animators The same routines and the same attractions repeated day after day. The only advantage of the hotel is the sea front view from the main restaurant. The waiters and ladies cleaning the rooms are very friendly and helpful. I don't know why the hotel is rated 4*, in my opinion it doesn't deserve more than 2+ Discrimination based on race, one can feel that Italians are treated better than other nations

Boa Vista Occidental is really nice place to stay and enjoy holiday. Beautiful view, nice clean sandy beach, very tasty food and great Animation team to provide entertainment.

We enjoyed the stay a lot. Beautiful place, good service, nice people, big rooms, great food,solid programe. Some details to improve but we would return again. Can recommend.

The hotel grounds are very spacious , cleaned very regularly and maintained well. There is a barrier to get into the entrance of the hotel for security. There is a amphitheatre opposite the entrance of the foyer which offers a 9pm show a couple of times a week plus music by the pool and singers several times a week with bingo, karaoke and a quiz night . The swimming pool area is kept clean with lots of loungers and double sun beds but unfortunately towels are out by others by 7.30am in the morning and they do not move all day. There are two small water slides for children. The hotel offers aqua gym sessions and water cycling sessions each day. The entertainment staff are energetic , dedicated and an asset to the hotel. The accommodation overlooks the beach. The accommodation resemble very old looking bungalows along cobbled steps or smooth ramps. There were two of us in a two bedroom apartment with 4 double beds. With air con just in the main room. Sliding doors on both rooms. The rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard. There are 3 bars around the hotel, one snack bar, one shop and one large restaurant. The buffet style restaurant is very good in the sense there is a large variety of food and drink three times a day with the all inclusive package but can get a bit boring when you go to the same room every evening. The waiters do clean up the tables quickly and efficiently. Two things that need to improve are the reception staff. They are not very welcoming at any time and for the first people you see when you arrive this could be improved! Very disappointed with them. The second is the WiFi which is not great. Yes you want to relax but to keep in touch with family is important too. The nearest area to leave the hotel for a meal and change of scenery is Sal Rei which is a 15 min drive in a taxi. Cape Verde is a pretty island although it’s owed by Portugal you do feel it’s been neglected. We went on 5 tours-catamaran, sunset dinner, beach bbq, turtle trip and an off-road trip. A very relaxing time in Cape Verde.
