Il Duomo Relais

This delightful B&B overlooking the duomo in Ragusa is just perfection! Katia is the most generous of hosts - from the moment of arrival when she will help with finding a suitable parking space outside to giving advice about restaurants and information about the town. We were delighted to make a return visit and apologise for the delay in reviewing. The property is absolutely spotless, the bed comfortable, the bedroom and bathroom are spacious and with everything you need. There is an excellent choice of food for breakfast with lots of local specialities that Katia will happily tell you about. The view from your balcony over to the duomo is amazing and it is delightful to see it lit up at night. For those who watch the Inspector Montalbano series, the exterior of the property was used in one of the episodes and we were really interested to hear about the filming. I can't recommend this property highly enough - it's like being welcomed into somebody's home. Thank you Katia - we will return again one day.

Katya was amazing! She came to our rescue as we struggled through the narrow streets and made sure that we had a good car- park. The small hotel has an amazing view over the cathedral and the surrounding countryside and our room was perfect - very clean and with everything we needed. Breakfast had to be pre-ordered but there was a vast choice and everything was delicious. It is a pleasant walk of about 10 minutes into town where thee are lots of restaurant and bars. I would definitely stay here again especially as Salvo from Montalbano stayed here and, in a recent episode, we recognised Ragusa!

Una splendida location per questo piccolo gioiellino sul punto più alto di Ragusa Ibla. Il Duomo Relais si fa apprezzare per la sua lussuosa semplicità: camere ampiamente confortevoli, con spazi adeguati alle esigenze di chi ha un copioso guardaroba al seguito; ricercate, secondo i canoni del posto, per quel che riguarda i colori e gli arredi. Il bagno non è da meno: grande quanto basta è fornito di tutti gli oggetti per uso della toletta giornaliera. Il punto forte poi è l’impagabile vista del cupolone del Duomo di San Giorgio che si può apprezzare in tutta la sua magnificenza dal balcone della camera stessa. Essendo un piccolo relais di solo 4 camere il Duomo propone una colazione particolareggiata con prodotti tipici del luogo (salumi e formaggi, marmellate, ecc.) da richiedere al momento dell’arrivo o la sera prima (non c’è il buffet ma è una mancanza che si sente appena). In definitiva la struttura merita il massimo della fiducia (e dei voti) insieme alla titolare Katia che in quanto ad assertività non è seconda a nessuno. Unica nota negativa il parcheggio: esiguo (quasi inesistente) nei pressi dell’albergo e la viabilità certamente non facile. Sono però punti che con un po’ di pazienza si possono superare facilmente. Rapporto qualità prezzo da prendere in considerazione per la convenienza.
