La Ferme d'Augustin

I am very disappointed by the way this hotel management handled this situation. I noticed after the second day bug bites on me and after the second night I had more so I went to a pharmacy in St Tropez, and I was told they were bed bug bites. I contacted the hotel and they denied it. I told them I would not stay there the last night and asked that they refund me and wash my clothes. They did not refund me and when I contacted my credit card company they closed my claim.

Great hotel near the beach. Comfortable large clean rooms. Free secure parking. Great location to visit the beach and bars. Breakfast good quality at €17 each. Waiting staff lovely and polite. Nice large bathroom in our room, which had been updated.

Very nice hotel right next to the beach. Lovely grounds with nice gardens and flowers. With this unfortunately comes bugs.The restaurant was very accommodating (we could see them bringing candles out to tables and plates with extra food to distract the bees). One of us were stung on the hand as the bees were quite aggressive. Once again it’s not the hotels fault but there is just a lot of bees. Furthermore we were taken on a tour when we arrived telling us they were showing us to our room. We arrived at what we found out was a suite and we thought that this was where we were staying. After we started to put our things down we were told that it wasn’t our room but instead an upgrade option. The lady wasn’t overly pushy but said she would make us a “nice price” when we got back to the front desk. Here she just told us the regular price for the suite (which was double of the room that we had booked) and then requested that we make her an offer for the upgrade. We ended up agreeing to an upgrade but the “haggle” didn’t feel very upscale in our opinion and was a bit off putting. I understand it’s a sales tactic (as the room obviously wasn’t booked that night) and we agreed but in hindsight wouldn’t have without the added pressure and incentive of being told it would be a “nice price”and going all the way back to the front desk carrying all of our stuff. All this to say, just be aware that when they show you to your room it might not actually be your room but instead a sales pitch.

This is at best a 3 star hotel (we didn’t spend too much time elsewhere in the premise so can’t comment there ; but just in our room). The rooms are old, few issues we ran into 1) no blackout curtain 2) no coffee/kettle in the room - need to ask for it. 3) room is small and old 4) hairdryer is one of those from the 90s attached to the wall 5) hot water taking a shower goes in and out. So can get really hot or cold for a split second It’s a “cute/charming” premise I suppose, but the room was certainly disappointing given the price tag. During check in, staff also tried to convince us to upgrade to a better room. Maybe it’s our room, but reminded me of my college dorm

I have known this little part of heaven on earth for over forty-five years. For me and my family its like coming home. I knew the origional owner who was head of the local resistance in the last world war. Squat tough and a terrific sence of humour. Taught me to play boule but only if there was a pastis at hand. I went early in the morning to market with him, a pastis with a coffee was de rigeur. I first went there to work and arrived at night it was very dark but a cold plate had been left in my room. Slept like a log to awake to flowers, sun and a delightful warm welcome. Breakfast on the terrace was fresh baguettes etc. home made jam and creamy butter. Delicious coffee. AND the food was beyond delicious. Breakfast is served now until 11.30 in your room or a quiet spot in the garden. The running of the Ferme has passed down the family and is now in the capable hands of Christophe who has inherited the special Ferme warmth not just from the sun but his greeting. The Ferme now has a swimming pool dug from Augustin's boule pitch. He would not have minded as the pool has a fabulous outdoor bar. The cocktails prime one for lunch or dinner. Non-fussy fo. od fresh and well, just perfect for me. I just love the way fresh fish is shown and then discussed how one would like it cooked. I could write a book about the Ferme but suffice to say that I went there three times the first year, before I was married the second time. I had my second honey moon at La Ferme! La Ferme is 150 m from Plage Tahiti who have a geat bar, have not tried the food because, well the Ferme's is only a little stroll away. By the way a thoughtful car is on hand to take one down to St Tropez, ten minutes drive For me and my family, who have all grown up, go there with my grand children. It is a bit special.

this is a 4 star hotel charging 5 star prices and giving 3 star service room was not cleaned on the first day because we had dogs and despite being more than flexible with them the room was never cleaned, never had turn down in 3 nights. I told the reception and blamed it on us.. Breakfast and service was shameful, a bread basked was thrown at us the first day and the second had to wait for 15 minutes to be seated at a clean table..and then dear Cedric the waiter) snubbed us..perhaps he should not be working in the business., at which point we left and had breakfast at the beach...if you want any form of hospitality then forget it..
