hotel is in a very small town. room and bathroom are small. dinner is responsible. staff are quite stiff.

The hotel owner Holmsteinn went above and beyond to make our photography group feel right at home for our 3 night stay. The food was fabulous! The fresh caught fish was outstanding and the family style Leg of Lamb Sunday dinner was one of the best meals I have had. Holmsteinn, the hotel owner took us on a walking tour of the town after dinner one night. His kindness was legendary and very rare these days. This is the real deal - genuine Icelandic hospitality. Highly recommend this hotel in Northern Iceland!

Stopped here for some fish and chips, which was the best! Super friendly, beautiful view and great hospitality. Could not have had a better experience. I believe when we talk appt our trip to iceland when we return home, this will be one of the places we rave about.

We spent three nights here . This was our second time to stay . The hotel features clean, comfy rooms and the restaurant serves excellent meals that feature locally sourced ingredients. What sets this hotel apart from others is that the owner goes above and beyond to make his guests feel welcome. If you want to get away from the crowds and find small town Icelandic culture, you should visit this place.

On our road trip through Iceland, we visited the small town of Raufarhöfn and the Arctic Henge monument, Stonehenge’s younger brother, which is just a few kilometers from the Arctic Circle. It was already lunchtime and we decided to stop at the restaurant at the Nordurljos Hotel. We were welcomed by the owner. An extremely friendly gentleman, who in addition to offering us delicious food, also gave us lots of interesting information about the place and the region. I highly recommend it!

We spent an incredible two days in Raufarhöfn. Our hotel accommodation was the Hotel Nordurljos. What set this stay apart from our other stays in Iceland is the people. The owner and staff are some of the friendliest and most accommodating hosts that we have experienced in our travels. If your Iceland travels includes the Northeast part of the country, I wholeheartedly recommend the Hotel Nordurljos!

We stopeed one night with dinner in this lovely hotel, in lovely village by the seaside. The owner and staff are really kind and we got a very good dinner and breakfast. After departure the satff found my wallet forgot in the room, and sent it back to me directly at the next stop on our trip. So thank you again for your kindness. But in any case it was one of the best accomodation i had during our trip all alround Icelend. NOTE Next to the hotel is going to be built a large "Dawrf Temple" to fully enjoy the Northern Liughts.

After a long and tiresome drive along the coast on a gravel road for about 60 min, we reached this gem of a small hotel. At first sight from the outside, this did not look like a proper hotel. However, entering all doubt disappeared. A lovely place with a host most welcoming and helpful. He was owner, receptionist and cook, all in one person. The rooms simple and very clean. «Less is more». We enjoyed a beautiful meal made from local products from the sea and the hills. We can highly recommend this lovely hotel. The hotel was not opening for a few weeks however I had made the booking months prior and they honoured it (I was the only resident guest). I had a really friendly reception and offers of assistance for sightseeing. The hotel/rooms are not 5* luxury however very well appointed and superbly maintained. I thought it was terrific. I stayed for dinner (nothing open in town yet). It was simply stunning, a memorable fish soup. Then lamb, just perfectly prepared. It was the best food I had enjoyed in Iceland (and standards are high in Iceland generally). Highly recommended
