The Sitwell Arms Hotel

Lovely food and helpful staff. Atmosphere cosy and friendly and staff worked well, nothing too much trouble for them. Would definitely recommend and will be going again to sample something else off the menu.

We got married here on Monday 25th August in the Sitwell Suite having chosen the intimate package and it was honestly the best day. From booking right through to the day itself the team made it so easy and anything we needed answering Karen particularly was amazing! I would like to also Thank Sharon who was our co-ordinator on the day and made sure everything ran smoothly and kept us both calm! Would also like to Thank Cameron and I believe Scarlett (apologise if thats wrong it was the evening of our day 🫣) but you guys were ACE!!!!!

I gave this review a one rating but the hotel staff and amenities deserve a four so why a one? BANG BANG BOOM BOOM DISCO 😡 The hotel superb and the upgraded room lovely as per the photo but a quirky sink as when you turned the cold tap on it gushed out the sink all over the bathroom floor. Step over bath which I couldn’t use as I have trouble getting my leg over at my age lol so couldn’t shower 😡 All the rooms have self closing doors and you get continuous banging doors late into the night 😡 The hotel is lovely with staff very helpful smiling and attentive👍 We had a Buy A Gift deal which included a glass of wine three course set menu or £25 credit PP and the set menu although limited was excellent value 👍 The baked mushroom starter superb and the roast massive but served at 7pm on a Sunday a little tired 🙈 The breakfast absolutely fantastic continental as well as a superb cooked as much as you want 👌 Now we come to the part which completely ruined our nights stay😡 Any other night without having to listen to a BANG BANG BOOM BOOM disco almost under our room went on till midnight. We would be giving this review as four possibly five if this disco hadn’t been on. When I had a niggle in the morning we were asked so you wasn’t at the party then? If we had known this diso was on we deffo wouldn’t of booked the same night which again completely ruined our stay🙈 Hay ho to close I would definitely recommend this hotel but trigger warning check when booking what events are on 🫶 PS I have just read a previous review on the same subject so be warned 👍

We attended a wedding celebration here last weekend. We had room 21, the room with the 4 poster. Because it was the only room left we had to pay £180 for the night. This was far too much for a room that was tired and, much worse, interrupted on and off all night by disruptive fan noise. A complaint the next morning at reception met with confirmation that this issue was well understood ( obviously had been subject of previous complaints!) ! On the plus side the food during both the wedding and at breakfast was very good

We went for Sunday lunch. Lovely dining area and the food was excellent as usual. Staff very friendly and attentive. Will go there again.

I stopped here 2 nights for my sons wedding and overall was very good. The wedding and reception were both excellent, staff very attentive and friendly BUT I had a couple of gripes. My single room was comfy and clean although there was evidence of carpet moths at sometime. On throwing the quilt back ready for bed at 11pm on the Thursday I noticed a tear in the quilt cover but as it was a warm night I put the quilt back and slept on top with a throw over me which I would have done anyway. I reported the torn cover to reception in the morning as I didn't want them thinking I'd done it and charge me £50 and the man on reception apologised and said he would inform housekeeping. When I went to my room later on the Friday to change for the wedding housekeeping had been in and remade the bed so I threw back the quilt to check it and the same tear was there so it had not been changed. As it was again a warm night I again slept on top of the bed with a throw over me but it should have been changed. Point 2 was on the Friday morning, the mother of the bride and myself went into the Sitwell Suite to put out 'goody bags' on the tables and I noticed broken glass on the floor near the windows and the sills themselves were very dusty with dead flies and moths on them. I reported this to reception who told me the room should have been cleaned the night before but he would have a look. He came in while I was still in the room so I pointed out the glass and dirty sills and in fairness to him he cleaned it all up himself but again, it shouldn't have been left to me to point these errors out, the room should have been clean. The brides Mum and Dad were also stopping over and someone's underwear was found in a drawer so something else housekeeping had missed. Overall though a good experience.
