Lindos Royal Resort

Just to state, the hotel was nice, and this is not a moan about the negatives. This is just honest and helpful info. We chose this hotel as its stated as 5*, but it’s nowhere near. It doesn’t even try to be, by customer service and condition of facilities. All it does it set a high bar and then fail. Its struggling to be a 4*, probably nearer to 3.5*. Let me take you through it... THE ROOM We had a family room in block 1, in the main building (room 1404). We can't comment about any other room, such as the swim up rooms or superior rooms. Spacious and reasonably clean, the room isn't tired, but they were also not as modern *as you'd expect from a 5*. There were only two chairs on the balcony even though the family room slept four people. The walk-in shower was nice though. The aircon controls in each room are pretty pointless as setting a different temperature makes no difference - they cool the room a bit, but not a lot. We asked reception 3 times to check ours, as our children’s room was noticeably cooler - they didn't come, and when we chased it they admitted the maintenance team were closing the jobs down without even looking. We gave up asking. We had ants in the room and a can of mosquito spray was sent up to the room for us to use. This was after we were accused of taking food into our room which we hadn't. An observation about the swim up rooms – they are not very exclusive – many are next to public areas, so there is little privacy, and the pools are shared, with little per-room space. Think of it like staying in a terraced house compared to a detached house. FOOD One main restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining areas. Busier inside due to aircon cooling. There is also a few stray cats hanging around at meal times under the tables. Large cold salad area and hot meals - all pretty good, although can be a bit samey after a week. Live cooking stations for pizza and pasta are always popular, often with a long queue. Always good dessert and fruit area. Some things are randomly placed, although you get used to it atter a few days. *Tip - butter is usually hidden at the back of the salads near the bread. Breakfasts are pretty good - seem to pride themselves on their American breakfast although you can make a good full English out of what’s available. The staff will serve drinks to your table, the only place they use glass - everywhere else is plastic and paper cups. *Tip - keep your glass and decant your plastic cup bar drinks into it. Snack bar at the pool bar serves different snacks on different days - pizza, gyros, hot dogs etc. GETTING AROUND It can be confusing where to go in the hotel - particularly as the lifts use different level numbers for the same floor. If you explore the corridors you will find routes to where you want to go, with lifts appearing in random places. *Tip - the quickest route from the pool bar area to the main pair of lifts, is to walk through the restaurant, towards the right, past the single lift

POSITIVES: Food: Great variety & quality. Lovely views in the thematic restaurant. Service: Staff are very attentive & helpful Location : Right beside vlycha beach & hotel has its own private bay with extra sunbeds away from kids pools etc. Good spot for snorkelling. 10 min taxi from lindos town. Swim-up room: The room made our stay worthwhile, we were lucky it was in the sun most of the day, have no complaints about the room! NEGATIVES: Drinks- Disappointed with both alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks. Calypso bars sodas were undrinkable, tasted like it was mixed with the pool water. Entertainment/Atmosphere: In the evening there was nowhere nice to sit as the bars by the pool felt very casual and the music playing from both would overlap (think remixes of remixes). Only nice bar that served drinks in glasses instead of plastic cups was a paid bar. The entertainment consisted of singers every night, would have been nice to have something different.

I was quite worried before arriving here as the reviews are very mixed but we had a lovely holiday. Loves…the food!! The food is the best we have had in an all inclusive. Varied and so tasty with Asian, seafood, Greek evenings to name a few. Our room was stunning. I would say the hotel is not in my opinion a five star. We stayed in a deluxe family suite with sea view but other rooms seemed dated in comparison. Location, even though it’s not in lindos it’s only €12-14 in a taxi and the hotel has its own beach and an additional small cove you can snorkel in. The staff across the hotel were good and attentive. Improvement needed The a la carte restaurants are actually in the same area so when we go all inclusive we like to visit different restaurants in the complex which is not the case here. Also depending on the wind direction there is a very bad smell in the al a carte which is awful. Also the a la carte drinks are not included in your all inclusive which is ridiculous and the only hotel I have ever been to where this is the case. Bar space- the lounge bar upstairs is also not in the all in but this is such a waste as it’s the perfect space to sit and play cards in the evening. The hotel needs to scrap this as a paid bar and have it as a quiet bar instead as it’s almost empty every night. Overall a great stay and returned home relaxed just what the doctor ordered.

5 stars!! more like 3 star hotel !!! I had to move rooms 3 times as the rooms were dirty. The sheets were ripped the curtains stained, the towels thread bare, holes punched in door ants under bed, bathroom discussing, toilet flush broken, yellow water from taps ( when there was water ) loose electrics, beetles in rooms, poor air conditioning, fridge leaking, electric cut out, keys constantly didn’t work at the door ( back to queuing at reception ) balcony looks unsafe, in urgent need of repair. My holiday was completely ruined mainly by the filthy rooms that should never have been let out, every English person i spoke with seemed to have the same problem it was as though they were just moving one set of complaining guests from one room to another room that another set of complaining guests had just left. We were moved to more decent rooms 3 days before we left, these were more of a 3 / 4 star nature but really not good enough. I would urge anybody considering staying at this hotel to read lots of reviews you will see that all complaints are similar. This hotel is just not up to spec & your holiday that you have worked so hard for just gets ruined by constantly queuing at the reception & contacting your rep, you feel as though you’ve done a weeks work rather than had a weeks holiday it is just so unfair , I would strongly advise not to book this hotel !!!!

Have just returned from a fabulous stay at Princess Andriana Resort and Spa… yes you read that right, as after 1 night of being at Lindos Royal we checked out as to say it was “an absolute dive” is being too kind. TRAGIC. This is categorically NOT a 5 star resort. Very dirty, very old and dated. Needs knocking down and redoing. It’s a shame as the “group” they operate under have a fantastic beautiful 5 star resort within their group, but this is shocking beyond belief. Perhaps they need to take some tips from Gennadi Grand. When we arrived, to our “swim up deluxe room with garden view”, I was extremely disappointed to look out the window to see a row of pools directly opposite, a main pathway going through the middle which seemed to be a busy walkway for guests, and to the right of our room was the kids slides and pool. Not to mention the awful sewage smell. Room number was 3025. Images attached speak for themselves so I don’t feel I need to say much more on this matter besides this is absolutely not what we paid for and we’re utterly disappointed. Total complete an utter false advertisement as on the website and holiday company sites you think you’re getting a luxurious stay - complete opposite. Towels in the room were filthy, as were the walls, sink area and pillows. No tea or coffee in room, have to pay €25 to use the safe in your room, even though you’ve already paid for the room (where is the sense?!), dirty and old surroundings outside the room as well such as cracked floor tiles, napkins scrunched up shoved under table legs in the main restaurant to stop the tables from rocking, no working air-con just a dirty fan instead, no refilling of mini bar in your room - just 2 bottles of warm water in your fridge on the first day and that is all. Not worthy of a 5 star rating. Pool area looked extremely overcrowded. When I was at reception to raise these issues with management someone next to me had come to report her Apple Watch charger stolen from her room. I don’t doubt that it was as we had left some items of clothing in our wardrobe in our room upon checkout as we were in such a rush to leave the place we had forgotten them. A few days later once realising and making a phone call to the hotel to raise this and come to collect the clothing, we were fobbed off 3 times with receptionist saying “can you call me back in 30 minutes, we have something to deal with here”, multiple times. Once finally got an answer from the hotel on our items, they’ve said they were not in the room when housekeeping cleaned, which is a lie, and therefore our items were stolen as well. If you are looking for 5 star luxury then please do not waste your money on this absolute dive as you’ll be very very disappointed. I couldn’t bring myself to stay in that place another hour that we literally spent double what we paid to stay here, to stay elsewhere. Disgusting place. I challenge the hotel to reply to this with their comments as there is nothing to be said

Lovely hotel, beautiful pools and view. There was an issue with the air con but we were moved to a room that was much better. The food really is fantastic, something for everyone. Anthi at the bar was so lovely, very accommodating and the service was fantastic.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND Rhodes Linda's Royal Resort 5* Rooms: neglected, messy, musty smell, broken wardrobes. Swara: takes towels, but always forgets to put new ones, never refills the water. - The air conditioners do not work, and if they do, they blow outdoor air +35 ~ +37 degrees - there is no children's menu - in the dining room there is a lot of noise - the pools are not completely cleaned for the next day -cockroaches are walking +very tasty +the food is not bad +jura is perfect

Ours was a room with no view!! Arrived in morning everything seemed OK was taken in what seemed a maze to our room and was shocked when we got in there!! There was no bathroom just a wet room toilet room and sink in actual bedroom we pulled curtains to look at balcony as we like to sit outside on balcony as was even more shocked we were just staring at a wall with down below pools attached to rooms so no view whatsoever no sun and would look like you were perving at people in pool if you did sit there we had paid a lot for a deluxe room and this certainly wasn't it. We went straight back to reception to complain which after being told to wait for manager saw a woman booking manager so she that was a deluxe room so nothing she could do I said there is no view just a blank wall as we were no getting anywhere with her I asked to see her manager whereas a man came out and insisted that was the room we booked he was very rude and raising his voice which my husband told him not to speak to us in that tone he kept repeating that was a deluxe room and insisted he was not moving us in the end we had to go back to room and put up with it for the week I was very upset and it spoilt my holiday room was a disgrace as well food in restaurant was always cold and the resort is definitely catering for families not couples like us. I would never go there again and advise people to avoid.

When considering reviews of this hotel, I recommend taking them with a grain of salt, as my mother and I did, and we're glad we did. Although the hotel is ranked as 5*, I would personally rate it closer to a 4* when comparing to similar-rated resorts in Turkey. Many of the amenities one may expect in a 5* hotel were added extras, such as payment to use the safe and paid drinks in the a la carte restaurant. However, they were still reasonable! We booked a split level junior suite with a sea view. The room was simple yet well decorated and always clean, with a great view across Vlycha Beach. We stayed in the 4000 wing, near to the kids club and area for private parties. Whilst the noise from both of these was minimal, I would request to placed in a quieter part of the hotel next time, as one night a pre-wedding party went on quite late. One problem with the room is the lack of body care products provided. No hand soap and only small samples for body wash / shampoo / conditioner were provided throughout our stay. Whilst it appeared that there was holders in place for larger bottles, these were empty. It appears that this was potentially overlooked when preparing for our arrival, but was not a large problem as we had brought our own toiletries. Despite these minor drawbacks, this hotel ranks among my favorites. It boasts numerous outstanding qualities that deserve more recognition. The standout feature of this hotel is undoubtedly its staff, who are some of the most exceptional I have encountered. Not only are they friendly and welcoming, but they go above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. The buffet food is consistently varied and well-prepared, with the grill, pizza, and pasta stations being personal favorites. Pizza and pasta varieties were made differently each day by the skilled Italian chefs on the station. The staff were always very welcoming and prompt with taking any drink orders. I have to particularly mention Mark and Eniko the servers, who always had a smile on their face and were extremely prompt with coming to both take and fulfill any orders. The pool bar serves delightful snacks throughout the day, with the gyros being a particular highlight for a light lunch or afternoon treat. The drinks by the pool bar are fantastic. The service is fast and efficient, and service is always with a smile and some great conversation. The staff will happily make something you like if they have the correct ingredients for them. Be careful of the cocktails - they definitely aren't afraid of making the drinks strong! I have got to give mentions to Ilias, Alexandra, Tsampikos, Serigo and Stavros for keeping me and my mother entertained all week with good banter and tasty drinks. The quality of food at the a la carte restaurants is exceptional, with a tapas-style array of starters and a wide selection of main courses. The presentation rivals that of fine dining establishments, overseen by the attentive hostess Christina, who accommod
