Sunshine Rhodes

De dyraste rummen är de äldsta och värsta, dörren kändes utanför gångjärnen när vi kom in i rummet på natt 1 och duschskärmen var den motsatta änden av badkaret till duschmunstycket. Familjepoolen är 2 x 3 m cirklar och en liten pool med 2 små rutschbanor, inte lämplig för barn över 1/2. Maten är grym utan förändring genom veckorna och begränsat urval, snackbaren var den bästa kvalitetsmaten. Specialrestaurangen på plats var dålig service och mat av dålig kvalitet, vi var tvungna att få våra egna drinkar och tallrikar och gick utanför platsen för att äta middag efteråt. Underhållningen var inte lämplig för barn, ett minidisco 6 gånger i veckan som spelar samma låtar är inte kvalitetsunderhållning. Övergripande service är chockerande. Hotellet hölls rent och snyggt men höll på att falla samman. Om det inte var en värmebölja med en härlig havsbris skulle jag boka en annan hotelldag 2x jag skulle inte råda några familjer att resa hit om du inte har något annat val,

Fantastic hotel right by the beach about 10min from the airport and 15 from the town of Rhodes and a very short distance from shops and bars, staff very friendly, food ok better than other all inclusive I've been to. Rooms cleaned daily. Although I did get a few bites at nite time. What makes this hotel is BILLY the head entertainer him and his team do a amazing job. Really enjoyed the darts every day kids from 4yrs old to adults in there 70s playing every day and Billy knows them all had nicknames for us all too I was 'Big David" great fun as he spoke a number of languages and interacted with everyone. Thanks to the team at the Sunshine hotel and big shout obviously to Billy and his team.. Cheers from Big David , Monika and Marcus.

We arrived at 3am and went to our room, to find someone else in there! Once this was sorted out and we were given room 614 - which was absolutely nothing like the pictures. It was mouldy and filthy and just disgusting to be honest and we are not actually fussy people! I would give this hotel 2 stars at best due to the level of cleanliness and the general state of the hotel which had broken furniture and torn sofas in communal areas. The pictures do not reflect this hotel at all.

This is our 3rd time here and we have thoroughly enjoyed every minute, it's a wonderful, lovely and charming hotel where the staff work tirelessly. A big acknowledgement to the entertainment team. The hotel is lucky to have Billy and Shelly organising and orchestrating a varied and engaging activity programme. I especially enjoyed the darts. Billy and Shelly are multi lingual, friendly, happy and engaging. They work tirelessly along with the rest of the entertainment staff to provide guests with some outstanding entertainment. I especially enjoyed the paper and killer darts tournaments as Billy made them fun and highly entertaining. The restaurant and bar staff all work hard, the food is standard all inclusive fare and there is plenty of variety. The bars have a selection of local alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The snack bar is open all afternoon until 4pm and has some nice shade. The pool is refreshing and cleaned daily, it's perfect for taking a dip to cool down from the sun. Our room was modern and spacious with a lovely balcony overlooking the main pool and connecting bridge. The maid cleaned it spotlessly every day. The reception staff are friendly, helpful and polite. They went out of their way helping me with some medication that had been held up in customs as I spent 2 months here over the summer. The cleaning staff are out at 7am tidying up, brushing and hosing everything down. They do a fantastic job. The hotel is right on the beach front if you fancy a dip in the sea. Outside the hotel is a ***** of restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets and pharmacies. The hotel is right on the flight path and it's fascinating watching the planes glide over the hotel around 200 metres above. Overall we have no complaints. We don't normally repeat book but we are drawn to this place and will be back next year for a fourth time. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so memorable. Hula Hula and Yamas! Billy and the Entertainment team are what make this place amazing, the hotel is basic and what you would expect for the money, no complaints here, same with the food and snack bar, don’t expect the ritz when not paying the ritz prices BUT, if you want a lovely Family Holiday with a great group of staff and entertainers, beautiful views, lovely pools, good excursions, bars and shops near by, close to the Airport then this is for you! Would recommend for sure! Thank you again to Billy and his team for making our family holiday one to remember, “OloooOloooo, Okidoki”

Sunshine is the regular choice for our family holiday, we love everything about this place, the rooms are nice, beds comfortable, food great, the pool areas are perfect. The staff are lovely and helpful, particularly Siva, Frossa, Dimitri and Shelley, but the main reason we keep coming back is Billy who provides the excellent entertainment in the evening and throughout the day. His darts matches are a great way of getting people together and his knowledge of so many languages makes everyone feel special. He makes our holiday special.

Arrived at 9.30pm, was given brown bag each with a sandwich, apple & bottle of coke, was told where our room was,as we had a hire car which we picked up from the airport but was told to park out on the street by a guy in a hut by the gate despite my husband being disabled, room was nice , clean & tidy. All staff we spoke to were lovely and helpful, always plenty of sunbeds available by all pools, food was ok plenty to choose from, the only let down was the massive cockroaches in the reception area and toilets! Which I spoke to staff about and was told she would get rid of them.

When we arrived at the hotel at midnight we were still greeted with a woman at reception telling us where our rooms are and about the resort and handed us a bags of food since we missed the buffet which included sandwiches, fruit and a cola or sprite. The rooms were all clean we had the bigger block of family rooms towards the back of the resort which despite people saying they were outdated wasn’t they were clean everyday with fresh towels etc. The restaurant was lovely always a table to use and we had a party of 10 and never struggled for a table. Most foods were repeated like chips and salads but most were changed every night which was lovely. Lots of deserts but syrupy but delicious nevertheless. Kids had lots of options for food and had self serve ice cream (vanilla always runs out first). When you sat down it had the most amazing views of the mountains and the surrounding area of the island of Rhodes. The pools were lovely and refreshing not cold but not hot. ALWAYS sunbeds to claim even at 1pm which was nice if you come back from exploring and can always claim a bed all 6 pools were fantastic never have to walk more than 2 minutes for a bar or a toilet. The beach was a pebbles but had nice sand is some areas and was quite busy even till 7pm The entertainment was always packed and was a different theme every night. 8:30 was kids disco and 9:00/9:30 was a show. Some of them were Greek night, mega bingo, and feel the urban beat etc. and pool entertainment was on everyday apart from Saturday it is a day off for staff. The bars were always happy to help and bartenders liked to have a laugh. The lobby bar and main pool bar are open till 1am and have self serve water and soft drink machines and had a cocktail list. The mamma Mia restaurant was always fully booked and have to book 3 days in advanced and despite bad reviews it was quite nice it didn’t have many kids options but they still loved it with pizza and carbonara. Wine and soft drinks were available. Overall it was a fantastic holiday and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience than this all the restaurant near by were higher quality. The cake box is a nice shop for coffee and cakes and milkshakes which is a small walk from the hotel. Unfortunately in our rooms 600,602,603 there were any infestations in the bathroom and kitchen which was a shame since it was such a nice room but we didn’t let that stop us from having a nice time. We just got back from a week at the Sunshine Rhodes Hotel and I’m not quite sure why there are comments on things being outdated or needing work as that wasn’t our experience at all. We stayed in a family room at the back of the hotel. It looks like it’s a newer extension almost as the building is grey as apposed to the rest of the hotel which is yellow. We had 2 rooms separated by the bathroom which has frosted sliding glass doors. The rooms were spacious with very comfy beds. The aircon could have been colder at night but was perfectly adequate. All the pools are lovely, big and clean. There are plenty of sunbeds to go around although of course people were up at the crack of dawn putting towels down booking beds ( pretty standard from my experience). It’s true, there is no one to take you to your rooms but the map of the hotel is clear and there are signs all over on room numbers etc so no big deal. The location is right on the beach front and of course the most amazing views. There are sunbeds and umbrellas available and the bar is right there too so no complaints. The food I would say is more 3 star than 4. Lots of salads to choose from which was great, cheeses etc. Not a lot of meat but lots of chicken, although mostly pretty dry. The juices from the dispensing machine are absolutely awful. Watered down to the point of being tasteless. As with any all inclusive it seems, lots of shoving and pushing at all meal times as though people will starve is they don’t get a croissant so that was really annoying. Entertainment was pretty standard for the hotel although Billy from the animation team was entertaining! As Greek people are, everyone was really friendly and nice. There are lots of supermarkets and shops surrounding the hotel so if you get tired of being shoved out of the way by someone at meal times, there are a lot of options for food etc. Highly recommend the Cake Box for coffee and cake. Avoid buying anything from the onsite jewellers. I bought 2 bracelets only to find the price was more than double than that in the jewellers outside of the hotel. Lesson learned. All in all a good holiday, the worst thing about it were the guests :)
