Lindos Sun Hotel

Beautiful hotel! We were so impressed at how attentive the staff were, the cleanliness of the hotel and how peaceful it was. It’s a 25 minute walk into Lindos town which we found to be perfectly manageable. There was some initial confusion with the board basis as we booked half board last year and we found out through a review that the hotel was now B&B only. Thankfully, Jet2 and Lindos Sun sorted this within 24 hours a few days before our holiday. I’m vegetarian so I often get anxious with not having enough food options but the chefs at the a la carte restaurant were so accommodating and I had some incredible vegetarian dishes! The girls at the pool restaurant were brilliant too. I cannot rate the experience we had at this hotel highly enough, it really was a holiday to remember!

We arrived early hours of the morning, very noisy room, possibly plumbing, bathroom door didn’t close. However when we raised our concerns next morning we were reallocated to a better room and all was well. There was a large choice of foods at breakfast, unfortunately none of the cooked food was heated, I’m sure this resulted in a huge waste. A chef did do very good omelettes. The pool was lovely and the sunbeds appeared new, the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Temperatures were much higher than anticipated (global warming) up to 30 degrees. The hotel is a little isolated however there is a bus stop outside the hotel to go to Lindos for 2 euros, otherwise it’s a 20 minute walk, steep so if mobility is is limited this isn’t good. The bus stop on other side of the road takes you to Pifki, better beaches and lots of restaurants, much more ‘touristy’, we preferred Lindos town, dates back to 16th century, some beautiful buildings. Lots of good restaurants, an average meal of two courses ( excluding pud), costs approx 70 euro.

We stayed at the Lindos Sun Hotel from May 30th to June 10th, having booked through a travel provider who advertised the board basis as identical to our previous visit: half board with buffet and à la carte dining. Unfortunately, this was not the case on arrival and significantly impacted our experience—not solely due to the hotel, but largely due to miscommunication with our provider. Upon check-in, we were warmly welcomed and found a ham and cheese wrap in our room—a nice touch. However, the welcome pack made no mention of an evening buffet, which raised initial concerns. A waitress at breakfast explained the hotel was operating à la carte only and that we’d need to book tables in advance. That evening, we were given a restricted yellow menu for half-board guests. We later discovered a separate white menu with more options, used for guests on a B&B basis post-October bookings. When we raised this with management, we were told there was no second menu—even after showing pictures we had taken. The manager then said we could use the white menu with a surcharge (after that it was later confirmed by email from our travel advisor) or eat at the pool bar (but only before 6 p.m.). Unfortunately, pool bar options did not reflect a full dinner experience (starter, main, dessert), which added to our frustration. Due to the confusion, we contacted our travel provider, and by June 6th were informed by hotel staff that we had been downgraded to B&B without our prior approval, and told we now needed to pay for the previous day's food. At this point, my wife became quite upset. We later spoke to who we believe is the owner—who was genuinely kind and apologetic—and he waived the charge for the 5th. I also paid the €70 tourist tax. On June 7th, staff informed us the hotel manager wanted to speak with us—only to request that we remove a review titled “Half Board Bookers Beware”, which we felt was fair and accurate. On check-out day, we encountered another issue: we were told an additional €40 in tax was owed due to a prior miscalculation, and once again, payment for the pool bar meal on the 5th was requested. After a lengthy discussion, the manager dismissed the charge. Now, the positives: The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and clearly loved by its staff. Our room was kept immaculate throughout our stay—huge thanks to the wonderful cleaning team. The pool area is serene and well-maintained, with plenty of sunbeds and no need to “reserve” early. The pool bar staff were always friendly, and a special shoutout to Michael Angelo at the main bar—an absolute ray of sunshine with fantastic cocktails. The breakfast buffet is varied and fresh, with options to suit most tastes. While we didn't dine much in the evenings due to the board confusion, what we saw from the à la carte meals looked high quality for those happy to pay. Some practical notes: The hotel is a 20-minute walk to Lindos, and there are no shops or restaurants nearby. Taxis cost €10 each

Writing this as we wait for transfer bus. If you have booked this hotel you won't regret it. From walking in the gates we were blown away by its beautiful, traditional, yet modern setting. Rooms are clean, spacious and have beautiful views. Pool area has plenty sun loungers and is spotlessly clean. The staff, what can I say, everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Special shout out to the sisters in the pool bar, the girls in the restaurant and the chef. Also Neil who helps out in the bar, he's always smiling and willing to help. The food is exceptional, breakfast has so much choice, pool bar, gorgeous food and massive portions and Le Grec, fine dining is out of this world. You will not be disappointed with Lindos Sun Hotel.

WOW WOW WOW!! Just spent 10 amazing days at this beautiful hotel. From the moment we arrived to the final day everything has been amazing. I cannot fault this hotel. The hotel reception is bright cool and so welcoming. Our bags were taken to our rooms and the man on reception explained everything to us. The rooms have a mini bar coffee making facilities. The bathroom has hairdryer the cutest shower and complimentary shower gel shampoos and conditioner. Lovely crisp white sheets and so bright and clean. Breakfast is amazing so much choice all fresh the fruits are amazing. Pastry’s galore eggs anyway you want them constantly being replenished. Choice of drinks excellent. The waiting staff work very hard. Nadia is the sweetest girl and was so kind and generous a beautiful soul. The pool area is lovely always a sun-bed none of that towel to sun-bed fighting. Pool bar amazing the 2 sisters who run it are so lovely on our last day it was so hot and they came round the pool with ice cold flannels for everyone. The menu is excellent and very reasonably priced. We ate in the a la cart restaurant excellent food and service 5star. In the evening the bar is fresh modern and comfortable and mikalangelo is fabulous. He made me laugh every night makes amazing cocktails and nothing is too much trouble. The manager in reception went above and beyond for us when we needed some help and we are extremely grateful. Thank you everyone

This hotel is fantastic, immaculately clean and absolutely amazing staff where nothing is too much trouble and couldn’t praise them high enough. The food in the buffet restaurant, the pool bar and the a la carte was absolutely delicious, couldn’t fault at all. Our room was ground level facing the pool and was perfect for our needs and cleaned immaculately every day. The location is between Lindos itself (less than 5 minutes) and Pefkos (just over 5 minutes) but would not recommend walking!! There is a regular bus route and the bus stop is at the entrance to the hotel, or staff will call you a taxi. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone as you won’t be disappointed. We would definitely return.
