Hotel Galaxias

The hotel staff are exceptional, friendly and helpful. They went the extra mile when we thought we lost a phone, giving us advice on bus timetables instead of using a taxi, opening the bar and garden when we came back after a days sightseeing and wanted a drink The breakfast options were lovely and contained a huge variety of food to choose from. We stayed at the start and end of our trip so had two different rooms and both were lovely. One had a balcony which was lovely although was facing the road which was a little noisy. The toiletries were a nice touch and the rooms were cleaned on a daily basis. The only downside I would say was that the service options were a little basic in comparison to some of the other hotels we stayed at but considering the location we could survive without these..

Hotel Galaxias is a brilliantly positioned hotel for the Rhodes traveller. Cheaper than many other hotels that are near/in the Old town, it needs a 20 minute walk through the backstreets of Rhodes to where all the action is. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the rooms are clean, well-maintained and quiet. The plus sides to the hotel include excellent wi-fi, luxurious dining/breakfast area and a private balcony. When there was a problem (i.e leaking air con) it was dealt with quickly. The only room issue I could see was that the shower is too small and water leaks onto the bathroom floor, I doubt a large person would enjoy a shower and could probably not turn around easily. Bear in mind this hotel has the usual Greek toilets (no toilet paper down the toilet) so it may cause alarm to some. There was only one other problem I found with the hotel - my family were staying near the Old town and wanted to visit me in my room, but the hotel has a very strict policy of not allowing anyone else in apart from those staying into the hotel unless they surrender their passports at the desk. Even then the possible visit time was limited . I could not understand this policy as I have been to many hotels around the world even the luxurious one do not have this policy. I can only assume they've had an issue with damage in the past from outside guests but I found it rather strange they wouldn't allow anyone else in, even if I knew them. Apart from this, I can highly recommend Hotel Galaxias to any Rhodes traveller.

Προσοχή στα χρηματα σας γι αυτο το ξενοδοχειο. Η διαμονή μου δεν πραγματοποιηθηκε εξαιτίας των δρομολογίων με το πλοιο που ακύρωσε η εταιρεία χωρίς λόγο άρα όχι δικής μου ευθύνης. Όσο απρόσωπη η μεγάλη ναυτιλιακή εταιρεία άλλο τόσο και το συγκεκριμένο ξενοδοχείο καθως μου κρατάει τα χρηματα της κράτησης χωρίς επιστροφή ούτε καν ένα μέρος αυτού, ητε να μπορω να χρησιμοποιησω αυτο το ποσο σε αλλη ημερομηνία διοτι δεν ήταν δικό της λάθος. Επειδή έχω συνεργαστεί και με άλλα ξενοδοχεία τόσο αυστηρή αντιμετώπιση με τον πελάτη δεν έχω ξαναδεί. Και προς απάντηση του ξενοδοχειου φυσικά και ακυρωσα 3 μέρες πριν καθώς τότε είχα την ενημέρωση από την εταιρεία του πλοίου. Δεν ήταν στη δική μου απόφαση αλλά μη πραγματοποίηση του δρομολογίου. Φυσικά και αντιλαμβάνομαι τη θέση σας. Αλλά τη θέση του καταναλωτή ποιος την αντιλαμβάνεται? Και πρέπει εμείς να πληρώνουμε συνέχεια και τα λάθη? Με ποιον τρόπο προστατευετε ο καταναλωτής και που ειναι τα δικά μου διακαιώματα σε όλη αυτή τη συνθήκη που ο μόνος που δεν ευθύνεται είμαι εγώ. Τέλος επειδή δε γνωριζα αν ήταν νόμιμο όλο αυτό ή όχι απευθύνθηκα στον συνήγορο του καταναλωτή όπου κατά επανάληψη μέσο email και τηλεφωνικά τους ζητήθηκαν έγγραφα τα οποία αφορούν αυτή την υπόθεση. Ποτέ μα ποτέ δεν απάντησαν. Έχω όλα τα έγγραφα από τον συνήγορο του καταναλωτή όποιος θέλει να τα δει του τα προωθώ.
