Lindian Village All Inclusive Resort Rhodes, Curio Collection by Hilton

Good infrastructure but terrible service. This is more like 4-star hotel with 3-star service. The beach is well equipped. Breakfast is limited compared to real 5-star Hilton but you can live with that. Rooms are old but not too old. Infrastructure as it should be in 4-star hotel. But all about service is more like 3-star. Our room wasn't made up for two days even after I specifically called and reminded about it. They said 'we have too many guests now'. That I guess mean that we do not have time for you? When you ask to bring you another coffee on the breakfast - they just ignore. When you remind, they say that they have too many guests. I'm not arrogant and I can pour my own coffee. But there is no such option, you need to call a waiter. Which simply doesn't carry it. The same with vine on diner. You can wait half an hour to get your glass of vine. Room service - wait enternity. When you remind you get the same answer. The furniture on the balcony of the room stained a lot of our clothes when we sat on it. That's why we just didn't sit on the chairs on the balcony. When we asked to change the chairs we were ignored. If you don't care about service and just looking for a good beach - it is a good place to go.

We stayed at Lindian Village for 7 nights AL in a standard room at the end of September. As a couple we wanted a quiet, peaceful holiday with a good beach and sea + aesthetic design. As a travel manager I have to say something: 1. Although the hotel is not only for adults and there were families with children, it was a quite peaceful time with silence and no rush. 2. Food: there were reviews about not much variety in the food and it's true, but I would rather say if you expect to eat lobster, seafood and 10 meat dishes - it's not the best place. The food was very tasty, 1-2 meals of each type of meat + seafood + salads + desserts etc. We also went to 3 a la carte restaurants and enjoyed every one of them. They are worth coming out of the hotel (especially the Asian ones). The bars are also good. 3. Beach + sea: The beach itself is sandy and pebbly, the entrance to the sea is pebbly. If you are sensitive to this, it is better to buy special shoes. The sea is very clean and calm because of the small bay. The sun loungers are very comfortable and I particularly liked the lack of music on the beach. 4. The design of the hotel: You can feel the Mediterranean village atmosphere perfectly, there was some construction but it didn't bother. 5. Rooms: This part needs fixing. Although the photos on the website are clean and fresh, we had problems with the sewage, the shower and the poor drainage, which is why there was water in the bathroom all the time (we didn't inform the staff to fix it because it's not a big problem for us). It is also worth noting that our room had no door to the bathroom, the toilet was closed with a sliding door but there was no soundproofing. 6. Staff: Mostly English speaking, friendly, polite and helpful. 7. Experiences: We rented a car for 1 day with no deposit and went to the nearest town Lindos, visited a Greek restaurant recommended by the concierge and enjoyed it. Played tennis at the resort, went to the gym and did yoga. We also went on a motor yacht tour with Sabinas Watersports (they are located on the beach of the resort), price = quality, we loved it. *I wouldn't say this is a disco resort, it's more about peace and quiet.

Having been to Rhodes before and stayed at other 5* hotels in the area, I can confidently say that this hotel is nowhere near the mark and we were left completely disappointed. I could probably write a thesis on the faults in this hotel however, to save myself the time and others reading, I will bullet point my own problems. • Air conditioning in the rooms does not go below 23c however, with body heat, showers etc it was closer to 25c most nights. • Rooms are poor quality in general (we spoke to many other couples). In our room, the toilet was installed at about a 25 degree slant, the sink did not drain, hot water was temperamental, plumbing noises were constant throughout the night. • Key cards never work (again, other couples confirmed the same issue). We went through 7 because they kept failing. • We was told the mini fridge in the room gets refilled daily. It was not refilled once in 4 days until I called and asked. • Breakfast is poor quality, same everyday, not a lot of options. Lunch is similar, however some dinners (particularly the Italian) are nice. • Don’t book a taxi through the hotel, we got completely ripped off (charged double the standard and was late). We told them after but they had no interest and took the opinion that we were lying. There was some other issues but I don’t wish to be to pedantic & I understand all hotels have some faults. However, what was most shocking for me and the reason I am giving the hotel 2/5 is because of the manager. I am lucky enough to be well travelled and have stayed in Rhodes 3 x before but I have never in my life seen incompetence and idiocy from management like this before. On our penultimate day my girlfriend aired some of the issues we had experienced to the manager (Christina) and she acted shocked, surprised and confused. However, we called her out because we knew of 2 couples who had also complained about similar issues (some worse) just in the 7 days we had been there. She promised us a late check-out at 4pm as a sorry and we gladly accepted. The next morning I called up to double check and reception said this was not true and that our room was getting filled immediately after. They said the latest we could check out was 1pm. Essentially, there was a whole debate over this and they argued in quite a rude way that I had to immediately come to reception. The manager then claimed to have never made this exception for us and acted as if it was news to her. After some back and forth she then kept throwing out random times ‘2pm, 2:30pm’ until eventually she seemed to give up and agreed on 4pm. Funnily enough, she was then waiting outside our room when we left and couldn’t haven’t seemed happier to see the back of us. I know of other guests who had a similar experience with her and it was clear from our first interaction that herself & her reception staff were poorly trained and trying to minimise the experience guests received in order to save some money.
