Richland Riverfront Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

I enjoyed the pool after cleaning a house in Richland. it was along weekend moving my business returning back to Seattle. I plan on a return visit in the spring. I hope it will be for pleaser the next time i visit. i did not have the breakfast but I plan on it.

Where do I even begin? I can’t believe this place is still in business. First off, there were actual flies coming out of the bathroom sink. I immediately took a video and went to the front desk, completely baffled since I've never seen anything like that in my life. The woman at the front desk looked at the video and casually said, "Oh, the river flies?" Excuse me, did she just say RIVER FLIES? They then told me there was nothing they could do because I booked through Priceline and offered no solutions. So, I contacted Priceline myself to handle it. However, the hotel staff became upset with me for managing the issue on my own, as they clearly lacked both the capability and basic customer service skills to address it. After Priceline informed me there was nothing they could do at that moment, I requested to check out immediately. When I first arrived, I had been charged a mandatory $12/night fee without any explanation. During check-out, I asked for clarification and requested a refund since I wouldn’t be staying. The woman at the front desk said, "You booked online, you should have done your research," and then proceeded to ignore me. At one point another staff member kindly printed out my charges and was polite, but when I noticed a discrepancy between the statement and my card charges, I asked for clarification. The first woman started making rude comments like, "Are you done yet?" and "You can leave now." I was shocked, especially since I had been nothing but respectful while dealing with how disgusting their room was. Even after I asked questions about who owns the hotel and who the managers are, she continued with her attitude. I respectfully expressed that her comments were unnecessary and uncalled for, but she didn’t stop. I left the hotel and followed up the next day, only to receive the same treatment from a man on the phone. Eventually, Priceline resolved the issue and I got my refund. But, to top it all off, I was informed by Priceline that the hotel would like to let me know they are banning me from ever staying there again! I couldn’t help but laugh. After everything they put me through, they had the nerve to ban me—as if I’d ever want to go back! I’ve also attached photos of the flies as proof. Please, save your money and never stay here.

Overpriced for what you get. Free breakfast was passable. Rooms were updated some time recently but the whole room was not done and the workmanship is poor. The main space is ok, but they only updated the floor tile, vanity/sink and faucet in the bath. Tub is still the same from decades ago. They installed a slider barn door that is either to large or was not hung properly because is scrapes the floor and the wall behind it and is very difficult to operate. It is very loud when being moved as well. The painting lines are not clean and the door trim was not cut correctly but hung anyway. Paint splatter on the toilet. Construction mess and debris still around and commonly cleaned places.

We checked in and immediately checked back out. Room had not been cleaned and there were bed bugs and other critters in the room. When I addressed with front desk we were told there was nothing that could be done. We asked them to switch us rooms or clean room and we were told they could not accommodate. We then asked for a refund which we were told could not be done until the following day when manager comes in. We were told two days later we would receive refund and could take a few days. Countless phones calls to the hotel asking for a call back and finally was told to email. Was told they would not refund now even though they said they would and manager is very unprofessional. Stay far away from this hotel!!!!

Booked room for a friend and she checked out several days early because of conditions in the room. Moisture was coming up from the floor through the wood floor panels. There were spiders and cockroaches in the room. Friend and her child had insect bites from sleeping in the room. Clothing items were missing after housekeeping staff was in the room. Friend did not feel that front desk staff were responsive to the poor conditions.

We booked directly through Best Western for 1 room, 2 nights (one free with points, one out of pocket). When we arrived Esmerelda asked if we booked 3 rooms. We explained the reservation and they had to rebook it. We were assured that we would see a $50 incidental hold (standard) and around $90 for the final bill. The floors were not clean at all, our feet turned black from walking. Half the toiletries were in the room. It smelled like It was previously a smoking room years ago (no amount of airing out gets rid of the smell, we've stayed in enough hotels to recognize it). At checkout we were billed for 2 nights. I tried to resolve it there with Esmerelda and she kept going over the numbers on my bill as if I couldn't do math. I told her one night is supposed to be free and she advised me to call Best Western. Not good advice because the reservation problem was at the hotel, and the hotel is the one that billed. She did not want to help. I called later and talked to Susan who said she would leave "notes" but I havent heard back.

1st room smelled like an ashtray and had dirty sheets. Second room not much better, leaky toilet, extremely loud mini fridge, lights that didn’t work and a shower that barely drained but hey, clean sheets. People doing ***** in the parking lot, didn’t feel safe.

The hotel was close to the water and where we were fishing, large parking lot and there were no issues with theft or parking. The rooms are decent with microwave and fridge. Good place to stay for business.

I had a discount coupon for a stay at a Best Western. Upon inspection of the coupon, I was told this hotel was not a Best Western, nor were they affiliated to BW. They did not want to honor the discount. It wasn't going to be much anyway, so this post is not about the money. When I looked at my room key, it was branded with the BW logo. Items in the room BW-branded items: coffee, laundry bag, etc. The property and our room was run down, too. I took pictures of an unfinished light fixtures with exposed electrical wires, and paint drips and brush marks, too. The room had a musty odor, the lighting was low wattage and dim, and my wife found a dead bug between the bed sheets. We are not returning to this Richland, WA property.
