La Suite by Dussol

La Suite by Dussol is an atmospheric hotel with dramatic coastal views and its own very stylish and idiosyncratic "modernist" art vibe. The rooms are eclectic, spacious, comfortable and also stylish in their own way. The pool area, separate from the main lounge/terrace area, is very nice also, peaceful with dramatic views. Burger (and fries) ordered by the pool side was one of the best I've had in many years (for real), noteworthily good. Breakfast on the terrace (again with dramatic views) is good (although simple - but personally I like that). The property is located down the coast from Rio, I guess in a suburb of Rio, and accessible through a winding private driveway with gated security which together with the property's secluded and leafy nature makes for a kind of "James Bond" hideaway feel, in my view that's not a bad thing! Service is pitched just right, led in the day by Emily, available on whatsapp, and nothing is too much to ask. Breakfast can be calendared by whatsapp and you are likely to have the terrace to yourself which makes for an exclusive feel.Two minor reservations are not to do with the hotel management at all. One is the occasional music from an adjacent (private) property which is unfortunate given the whole advantage of this hotel is its peaceful, secluded and leafy nature. But it is not a serious problem at all. The second is actually the secluded nature of the property - Uber is hard to come by (although does work), the novelty of the winding driveway in and out wears off slightly, and the car journey into central Rio is quite long and prone to traffic. But you would be foolish to come to this property to rush around too much, it is best for a quiet time enjoying the extraordinary ambience that this hotel has created and the interesting location. Regret not booking longer, hope to return. Highly recommend.

A wonderful secluded retreat from the strip of beachfront hotels. My room (black suite) was wonderfully appointed and clean. The morning breakfast and meal options for lunch and dinner were well prepared and you have your choice of where you would like to eat your meals- on the terra e (incredible views) or poolside. The staff (particularly Alex) is extremely attentive and literally a bell ring (they have a hand bell to ring if you need anything or have a question) away. I’m an explorer and made the trek to nearby Joatinga Beach, which is not for the faint hearted nor out of shape, but the natural beauty of this beach is a gift for the eyes. Uber works very well and trips to Rio, Christ Redeemer, and Barra de Tijuca are easily made. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and will be back

This property is very beautiful in a secluded and remote part of Rio. The mansion is beautiful appointed and has magnificent sunrises overlooking the bay. I highly recommend this location for a couple as they offer intimate dining experience.

What a wonderful find this splendid place is. So relaxing it really feels as if we are staying in our own villa! The hotel is packed with character and individuality as well as being relaxing, calm and comfortable. But perhaps the best point is the wonderful team here . Alessandro could not have been more helpful, accommodating and friendly and he has helped make our first visit to Rio a unique and wonderful experience. Do not be put off by the fact that the hotel is out of the centre as the transport is efficient and low cost . The Metro is easy to navigate, safe and clean . Everything at La Suite has been perfect including the delicious food prepared by the very talented in house chef . If we are ever lucky enough to have another trip to Rio , we will definitely be returning to La suite . Thank you for everything. Delith and John Wringe

Atendimento excelente, funcionários excelentes e lugar com uma vista incrível do Rio de Janeiro! Muito bom para um final de semana para relaxar e curtir uma das vistas mais lindas do Brasil! Café da manhã maravilhoso e indico reservarem um jantar a dois!

Cama maravilhosa e vista surreal . So que o restaurante fechar 21 hs em um hotel afastado em que os casais querem jantar e tomar um vinho com calma não gostei ! Precisam mudar isso porque cheguei no hotel para hantar e tive que pedir correndo porque ia fechar
