Victoria Hotel

We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate New Year’s Eve and were very impressed with all aspects of our stay. Lovely room - great view of the bay! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. This was our 1st visit but will not be our last!

We stayed here for 2 nights with the brilliant deal that they do on the website. We had a 3 course meal the first night in the Osborne’s restaurant which was delicious. We had breakfast both mornings which was also very nice. The room itself is quite nice. However the bed was quite uncomfortable and the bathroom was a bit grubby. It is not enough to put us off staying again, but we’d probably upgrade to a larger bed if possible. It’s situated at the top of the hill of robin hoods bay so really central and there is a fish and chip shop within a minute away. The pub next door is also very nice and cosy. The staff in the hotel were lovely and really accommodating. The bar tender in the pub is quite fixated on looking after the locals instead of the guests. Overall a great hotel in a great location! Would stay again.

We have stayed at the Victoria on many occasions over the last ten years but left this week feeling disappointed. We were allocated room 14 and it was boiling the second we walked in the room. We reported the heat issue which was overwhelming. We discovered the hotel boiler is situated behind a cupboard. We called down to reception but it wasn’t resolved. We had to sleep all night with a noisy air cooler. The hotel obviously know it’s an issue so they really shouldn’t sell the room. The main control knob on the shower came off in my husband’s hand. Had it have fallen on his foot it would have broken it. We reported this at reception on departure. We were not asked if we had enjoyed our stay - I would have thought that would have been a basic reception requirement! The staff were friendly and we enjoyed the curry night/live music but feel disappointed by how tired we feel today.
