Inn at Huntingfield Creek

Wonderful friendly hosts, beautiful Inn, comfortable room and incredible grounds. Lots of extras and yummy breakfast. Places to eat in the quaint small town and lots of nature activities like biking, birding and hiking. Can’t wait until we can return!

Oh my goodness, where to start! I took my husband to the Huntingfield Inn as a Christmas present for him and a bit of a retirement present to myself. We had SUCH a lovely time! Joanne and Jim are extraordinary hosts. Our cabin was outstanding - spotless and well-appointed. We loved the layout of the cabins, which provide solitude and privacy, yet are all very close to the main Inn so that it is easy to visit the beautiful library any time, day or night, and to partake of a delicious breakfast without having to leave the property. This is such a beautiful and relaxing location. The bay is a very short walk down a path nestled between lilac fields and trees, where you can relax on benches to watch the sunset. I can't wait to visit in the summer and see the lilac fields in bloom! There are birds and wildlife galore, thanks to the wildlife preserve just down the road and the remote location of the Inn. The pond on the property is home to a blue heron who graced us with it's presence, and to ducks and geese. The Inn is remote, yet close to excellent dining and cute shops. Perhaps best of all, there are three super-friendly pups who kept us from being too homesick for our own dogs. There is so much more I could say, but you really need to see it for yourself. Whether you go to celebrate a special occasion or to just enjoy a weekend away, you will be so grateful that you chose to spend your time here. Thank you, Jim and Joanne! See you again soon!

My husband and I celebrated our 51st anniversary. The staff were very nice. The breakfast was delicious. The grounds are well kept, and very nice to walk around. We stayed in the wood cottage, it was perfect. It was comfortable seating, and so was the bed. We enjoyed how private it was sitting on the back deck.relaxing

Spent 3 nites here on a VBT bike tour. The inn keepers, Jim & Joanne, were the MOST personable host & hostess one could imagine! Jim is a wonderful storyteller & historian. Joanne is a wildly wonderful cook with multiple fresh & yummy options for every breakfast & dinner we ate there. Our cottage accommodations couldn’t have been more spacious & comfortable- more like a small apartment! Bedding & decor were top notch, and easy, pretty walk to main Inn Easy access to a private dock with beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay & kayaks for guest. I felt there was no request that they wouldn’t try to accommodate!

Love, love, love the Inn at Huntingfield Creek. Think this was our 4th trip. We always stay for 5 - 6 days. Breakfast is always delicious & substantantial. All of our stays have been in the cottages... because I always need to spend a portion of the day working... so I need a work table to spread out paperwork. Joanne & Jim are always so accommodating and happy to provide a table for me. The swimming pool on site is also a tremendous plus! Rock Hall is a quaint town with great restaurant options for lunch & dinner... Blue Heron Oyster House, Harbor Shack, Waterman's Crab House and the Flying Decoy. Rock Hall is also fabulous as our "base of operations" for day trips to Saint Michael's, Annapolis, Chestertown & Earleville, Maryland.

This was our third stay and has become our favorite place to get away. The accommodations are excellent, the breakfasts superb, and proprietors Jim and Joanne seem more like family than inn hosts. We highly recommend this beautiful place.
