I don’t know what kind of magic beds they have here, but I slept better at Afton Mountain Inn than I have in YEARS! The suites are so cozy, the pool area feels like a five-star resort, and the nature trail is the perfect way to start the day. Already telling all my friends to book a trip!!

Needed a break from city life, and Afton Mountain Inn delivered. Loved how peaceful the property is, how comfortable the suites are, and how everything feels designed for relaxation!! We love the Nelson Co area and all the wineries and breweries nearby!

We loved our room and the bed was very comfortable. We did learn that we are not smart enough for YouTube Live, but the staff was very helpful and got it working for us. We also thought it was an actual B&B with breakfast included and wandered around aimlessly for a while trying to find it. Other reviews had said how wonderful the breakfast was and I want future customers to be clear that there generally isn't staff on the premises. They did have oatmeal that you could make for yourself and coffee machines both in the room and in the common area. It is a lovely area and I'd love to go back and spend more time there.

My husband and I had a great weekend at Afton Mountain Inn! We are so glad we found this spot. The rooms were great and equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub and pool was a huge plus!! We were located super close to a ton of the wineries and breweries which was perfect. We definitely want to come back again with friends!

Great room. Reasonable price. Spotless. Attention to cleanliness unsurpassed. From-scratch cooking is a pride of the Inn, and a pleasure of anyone aware of good food. My only hesitation in this worthy applause is that it may help cause a No-Vacancy sign next time we are in Virginia. And have no doubt about it, if we are anywhere remotely close to this Inn, we'll call them first.

Dan & Orquida were good hosts. They greeted us at the door when we arrived & showed us around the first floor of the house. We stayed in both the Looking Glass & Jefferson rooms. We especially enjoyed the Jefferson room with the high 4- poster bed and the furnishings & decor. It was great to have cookies & drinks provided on the upstairs landing in the evening. Breakfasts were yummy- especially the frittata & local sausage. If you are going on Skyline Drive or checking out the local wineries & cideries this is a convenient location.

I got the chance to visit Afton Mountain B&B over the weekend and just loved it. From the moment my husband and I entered, we felt so welcome. It's historic and beautifully preserved, yet still offers plenty of what we look for like whirlpool tubs and luxurious beds. The Ingrahams are incredibly welcoming innkeepers, the yummy bars that they leave for guests looked so tempting (yet I was good to my diet)!. The glow from the stained glass windows when you enter just lasts throughout the visit. The roses were in full bloom in the gorgeous gardens next to the inn, along with pleny of Iris's too. It's in the perfect location for a wine tasting tour or visiting Monticello and Ashlawn-Highland too. I highly recommend Afton Mountain B&B to all couples!

I stayed for one night at the AMBB with my friend after touring Blue Mountain, Wild Wolf and Devils Backbone and couldn't be happier with our stay. The room was adorable and the staff were friendly and very hospitable. The cozy back porch was a lovely hideaway to relax after the long day out and about and listen to the crickets chirping in the mountain air. Breakfast in the morning was a wonderful surprise with fresh fruit, delicious local eggs and veggies and a magnificent strawberry pastry hot Out of the oven! I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone planning on staying in the area.

I had an amazing time here. The accommodations were first class. Orquida and Dan are the nicest people and made sure that all of my last minute requests were honored. Breakfast was delicious and the homemade cookies were an added bonus. I will definitely return and have already recommended the B&B to family and friends. Thank you for making my birthday weekend peaceful, relaxing and simply beautiful!
