Afton Mountain Inn

My sister and I had a sisters weekend in Afton and loved our stay at Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast. The hosts were lovely and their breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed their pups too. We stayed in The Looking Glass room which was roomy, clean, comfortable, and welcoming. They even have a noise machine in the room you can choose from many beautiful sounds as you drift to sleep. Mattresses were comfortable and the view of the property from the windows was great. They leave yummy snacks in your room too! The rest of the house has comfortable rooms to hang out and brochures to read about the area. The dining room is quaint and a good place to get to know the others staying while you are there. Local food and drinks for breakfast were so delicious. Our hosts had great recommendations for our weekend too. The grounds are vast and beautiful. I wish we would have had more time to explore them and enjoy the pool. Can't wait to go back!

Lovely B and B in rural Virginia. We had 2 rooms on 2nd floor and both were immaculate and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious each morning. We very much enjoyed talking with other guests during breakfasts. It always is fun to get travel tips from others and to share experiences! The Inn keepers were very friendly and checked in with us on several occasions to make sure everything was to our liking. We would definitely stay again if in that lovely part of Virginia.

We had a lovely stay at this B&B. Dan and Orquida and their 2 dogs were very welcoming. It is well situated for driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, and has a number of vineyards within 10 minutes drive. Dan suggested the Blue Mountain brewery for dinner, a short drive away, which served a great selection of locally brewed beers. Orquida’s breakfast was easily the best breakfast we had during our 16 days touring around, delicious French toast and bacon, all locally sourced ingredients. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Afton Mountain B and B last week. The location was good for our visits to UVA, Monticello, Michie Tavern and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Orquida and Dan have been hosting guests for 20 years so they are fabulous inn keepers who provide just the right amount of conversation along with delicious breakfasts. We enjoyed conversing with other guests at breakfast. That is always my favorite thing about inns/B and Bs--- you get great ideas on where to go on future trips! We stayed in the Goodwin and Looking Glass rooms and they were both lovely, immaculate, well supplied and comfortable. Stay here you will be delighted!

Our first time at Afton Mountain B&B. It's a gorgeous older home. Orquida (the owner) is extremely nice and very attentive to her guests. The room (Goodwin) was very nice. Breakfasts were delicious. Loved the chocolate chip cookie which are always available. If we are ever in the area again, we will stay there again.

My wife and I will surely return and possibly not wait until next year. Orquida and Dan Ingraham served us the best 2 breakfasts we can remember. The Goodwin room was excellent-the linens/sheets were very comfortable and the individual cooling system along with ceiling fan worked great in the VA summer heat. We enjoyed the company of another interesting couple from out of state during breakfast. The location could not be better, close to great restaurants, super wineries, orchards, and The Greenwood Country Store.

We can strongly recommend the B&B, the hosts are super friendly and are trying to do everything for their guests. The room was very clean, the breakfast was outstanding. The hosts helped us a lot in recommending restaurants or vineyards. The location of the B&B is near to the parkway and the mountains. We also loved the pool. We will definitely stay here again when we are in this area.

We took to the mountains to celebrate our 55th anniversary and stayed two nights at this lovely, beautifully maintainef 1840 farm house in the Blue Ridge Mt valley. We especially enjoyed the front porch with comfortable rockers and the "secret" back porch. The ceilings are so high in the house that the staircase to the second floor (where the welcome cookies are) is on a gentle slope. Breakfast was delicious both days and my husband, who is Gluten Free, was very impressed with his GF blueberry pancakes and muffins. We plan to return in late October to enjoy the autumn colors.

After spending the day in Charlottesville, we wanted to stay overnight somewhere near the mountains. This was less than a half hour drive through a beautiful part of Virginia and very close to hiking and wineries for the following day. The hosts were gracious and breakfast was lovely. And the room on the first floor was surprisingly quiet!
