Hotel Lindenwirt

We stayed as part of a group on a coach tour. Excellent location on the Drosselgasse & close to all the attractions. The bedroom was large with comfortable bed & the bathroom was well appointed. There is no air conditioning in the bedrooms & the weather was very hot & humid. However, the hotel did provide us with a very necessary electric fan. Good buffet breakfast but the evening meals were poor. On the last evening we had a specialty dinner which was underwhelming to say the least & the service was dire. 2 courses in 2 hours with dirty plates left uncollected on the tables. A very disappointing end to our holiday.

Nice big room with comfortable bed and good bathroom. Quiet. Good buffet breakfast but food and service at dinner was poor. Recommend eating elsewhere. Also no indoor bar or lounge. Would be poor place to stay in cold or wet weather. Great position in town centre.

Great location, room was within the outside balcony, which made it cold with cold air coming under the door. We had to place towel near door to stop the draught. You could not turn up the radiator any higher as it had an inhibitor to prevent doing this .So we found the room to be very cold. The food in the hotel was very basic with no vegetables at dinner time. Breakfast was good., sufficient selection. The staff were excellent and reception very good.. I think the hotel should have a bar / lounge for the customers to relax in the evening. That was a downer for its low score on this site.

My stay at the Hotel Lindenwirt was a very enjoyable experience, the room was clean and tidy, the location (right in the centre of town next to the Drosselgasse) was perfect, and the food in the restaurant was good. The TV decided to stop working one evening, but it was quickly fixed when i reported the issue to reception. All in all, i had a great time and would happily visit again.

We called the hotel on our journey through Europe and checked their availability for the night. They didn’t have a hotel room available but a very kind and helpful person in the reception suggested we stayed in two ‘wine barrels’ since we travel with our dog. We agreed to this for 260 € total. The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect and the staff is very helpful but the wine barrel was a horrible experience regarding comfort. If taller than 160cm (which I hardly am) you should not stay there, the beds are tiny in all dimensions. For our kids I think it might have been an ok experience but they were both on their way to fall out of the bed during their sleep since it so narrow. At one point during the night I considered lying on the floor instead so I guess that speaks for itself regarding the comfort… In addition to uncomfortable beds, there is also no sound-proofing so we heard our neighbors snoring and woke up every time a door closed. The wine barrel is also very light there are no possibilities to darken the room. I pointed the above out during checkout but apparently there are people also who loves these barrels??

Stayed here on a recent Bavarian Tour. Loved the central location of the place but no luggage service makes check-in/out very messy. The rooms were also very basic and in need of upgrade. We also ate in the hotel restaurant, the food was underwhelming. Lots of better choices nearby....

We spent 4 nights at this hotel, it is in a ideal position in the middle of the town alongside the Drosselgasse. Our room was very compact and had obviously been recently updated, it was nice and warm and the beds were very comfortable. Others in our party made comment that the rooms weren’t warm, but they were on the outside balcony. The restaurant was warm and welcoming on the first night, but the following 3 nights, the radiators were not even on. Not at all welcoming. Food for our party was very basic, and no vegetables with meals. Dessert was very underwhelming. But outside guests seemed to have a much better selection. Breakfasts were much better as the offering was for all grades.

Wr wurden sehr freundlich am Hotel begrüßt und uns wurde der reservierte Parkplatz persönlich zugewiesen. Wir hatten eine Übernachtung im Weinfass gebucht (über Jochen Schweizer) u. unser "Fässle" war bei unserer Ankunft nach nicht bezugsfertig (wir waren auch 2 Std. zu früh vor Ort). Zu unserem Arrangement gehörte ein "TRIOLGI"-Rucksack (Vesper, 3 x Riesling aus versch. Lagen u. ein Wegeplan) für eine Weinwanderung. Außerdem war die Seilbahnfahrt (einfach), das 4-Gänge-Menü am Abend u. das Frühstück im J.Schweizer Gutschein inkludiert. Es war alles sehr gut organisiert und wir hatten tolle Stunden in den Weinbergen. Das Abendessen war ok, aber nichts besonderes. Dass unser Tisch dann doch noch auf der Terrasse eingedeckt war hat uns sehr gut gefallen! Die N8 im Weinfass war lustig, weil schmale hohe Betten schon etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig war :-) Schön war, dass das Weinfass ein eigenes Badezimmer hatte. Jedes Fass hatte eine "Terrasse" und das ist auch das einzige was vielleicht etwas stört. Die Terrassen sind auf gleicher Höhe wie die Parkplätze...also freier Blick auf die PKWs
