Excellent atmosphere, service, food and lodging. Animals and birds right on the property. Super nice staff. So close to the river and Selous park.

The stay at Baker & Son was really nice, with gorgeous sunsets at Rufiji, a great boat tour with lots of hippos, crocodiles and birds, the various monkeys as lodge roommates as well as the bush baby. The tribal tour with the man-eater-lion story was really interesting and very different to normal tourist tours. Very personal! The walking safari with Dr. Simba was also great. We didn't see that many animals, but we learned how to make fire. There could have been more animals on the tours to the national park, but our driver and guide was great, as was the car and the organization. The staff at the lodge were super friendly and there was always far too much really good food in the big bowls... All in all, a lovely stay in a very beautiful and pleasant environment.

A charming and delightful experience! We absolutely loved our time at Baker & Sons Safari. We spent 5 days in the well supplied stone cabin and found ourselves impressed with every detail; my wife was constantly pointing out its "lovely character." Imagine sitting in the morning on the balcony having coffee as the wildlife puts on their best show. We joked that the colubus monkeys might be on the payroll. Our evenings were spent watching the sun go down on the Rufiji river and listening to the hippos, making themselves heard. Everything was clean and immaculate. The manager Moses made sure that all our needs were met. We wished we had brought more family along to experience what we shared. Big Thanks for a great time, Baker and Sons!

The Bakers are great hosts and the staff at the lodge were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and thoughtfully chosen and prepared, with generous portions. We enjoyed the beautiful location, our day in the park, and our boat safari. We saw some beautiful birds, crocodiles, hippos, giraffes, elephants, and hyenas, among other animals, and enjoyed the colobus that hung around the lodge. One of the best things about using their company is they picked us up in Dar es Salaam and drove us to the lodge and back, creating a hassle-free experience (and protecting our car from the road :)).

We had unforgettable days at Baker & Sons Safari Company. Upon arrival we were absolutely blown away by the beauty of the place and the welcome of Moses and all the staff. All immersed in uncontaminated nature, with cute little monkeys popping up at all times. The lodge overlooks the beautiful Rufiji River crowded with hippos and crocodiles, an incredible adventure for the little ones and absolutely exciting for us adults too. The rooms are very nice, clean and well organized. Excellent meals and immensely kind and helpful staff. Graydon organized perfect days for us, from the exciting safari in the Nyerere National Park, to the walking safari with breakfast-pick nick, the boat trip on the river, the village and the smiles of lovely children... these days will remain in our hearts forever! Thanks Graydon! We can only absolutely recommend this wonderful place to anyone who wants a truly unique experience!

The accommodations were super fun rustic-style huts, beds comfy, shower Ok. Our food was plentiful, excellent and quite western, on the river location with lots of crocs and hippos, great staff. Loved the nostalgic record player, old records and monkeys surrounding us! . The Safari was very good and fishing made my husband’s day. If you are expecting a guided experience you might consider it more of a boat experience and you should be experienced yourself and bring your own gear. Many tiger fish were hooked, but few landed. Plan on fishing amongst wonderful wildlife and lots of crocs! The man-killing lion tour on the way home needed more of a tie-in to the Lodge and could be shortened up. We had a great time and the Bakers were easy to work with!

We had an amazing experience staying at this lodge; the sunset cruise and game drive were awesome! The service was outstanding, accommodations very comfortable, quiet, and the food was great. I would come back again and recommend to friends and family.

My wife and I had a fantastic 8 days at Baker Safari. It was an unforgettable stay. The Baker Safari team listened to our goals on this trip and was very dedicated to meeting each of our goals in a special and personal way. We obviously wanted to go on Safaris and our guide Muddi was attentive to our aspirations and knew where to take us to see the animals we wanted to see and also give us relevant information. We also wanted to be in contact with the locals and they were able to organize visits to different villages where we were able to experience rich and memorable encounters. Thank you to the whole team, to Graydon who accompanied us in setting up the program of our stay, to Moïse who was sensitive to each of our needs and all the other members of the team who expressed remarkable kindness and professionalism.

The customer service is very good. Moses did a great job.He got us everything we needed. Everything was on schedule. The food is very good and plentiful. The Rufiji River is beautiful. Each activity - the boat ride, game drive, hike, hot water springs - was well thought out and fun and informative. We would definitely return.
