Finfoot Lake Reserve by Dream Resorts

We stayed here for 2 nights in the 2 bedroom tent with pool. The tent was amazing and had everything you would need for your stay. The outlook from the deck was stunning. The main pool area was lovely with great views of the local animals. We had breakfast and dinner - which was a set menu at R295. The food was delicious and great quality. There was an extensive drinks menu too. We done the segways and the canoeing. The Segway safari was a brilliant experience and would highly recommend. We were lucky to see the giraffes on our way to our tent one day!! The staff were all very friendly. 2 nights was enough time here and we felt rested after our stay. The downsides; -The road to the resort is awful. It is advertised as a gravel road and they do inform you of this prior to check-in, however we had to drive at 20km/h max, so it took us a long time, would be much better in a 4x4. - The tents are quite a bit away from the main resort - good for peace and quiet but means you have to drive every time you go for food, activities etc. - The resort has very limited supplies to buy, it’s not a shop, more of a cupboard in the reception area. Overall, we had a great experience here and glad we visited.

All the staff and management are very professional and service oriented. From the moment you step-in, they take care of every little detail and ensure you get an exceptional experience all-round. Melanie and Sarel are doing phenomenal work, and you can tell the staff are well-trained and execute their duties with love and a sense of pride. Danica, our guide was so professional and knowledgeable and made our bush experience an amazing adventure. All the facilities at the main lodge are clean and well-maintained. The food is incredibly tasty, with an array of options on offer at each meal. The Luxury Tented Camp, which is where I stayed, cannot be faulted and is a must do if you are visiting the Greater Pilanesberg area. Thank you all for the genuinely warm hospitality and an unforgettable experience.

The lodge in general is good. The Game rangers and reception lady were helpful and friendly, The Bar Lady with the Dreadlock Hair is very rude and not friendly. When we booked there was said that there should be enough wood for the first night. When we arrived at Villa 1 there was a small pile of wood that wouldn't even be enough to warm up a Vienna. We then went and bought 3 bags of wood to only find that they gave us 1 small piece of fire lighters for the first night. We then made use of grass and small branches to start the fire. They gave us a small amount of very cheap dishwashing liquid to wash our dishes the next morning. We were 8 people and there was just only enough plates and cutlery for us, so we had to wash our dishes. We then cleaned the dishes because the cleaning team only arrived at 10h00 and we had to eat breakfast. There was a dishwasher with only 1 dishwashing tablet and the machine didn't work properly. We then went on the Segway and the 2 ladies went for the Spa Treatments which was good and fun, but the spa was expensive for what they got compared to another spa's that we went to. We then all went on the boat cruise that was supposed to be 2 hours but because other guests were late from their Segway trip, we were delayed by 30 minutes and had to wait for them. The cruise was supposed to start at 16h00 until 18h00 but we only left the lodge on the game drive trucks at 16h25. The cruise was fun and relaxing except for the massive amount of Hyacinth on the dam. We then docked back at 18h00 so we missed out on around 30 minutes of cruising due to other people being late that wasn't even part of our group. We then asked for 2 bags of wood for the night to braai and again started the fire without any firelighters but then bought a packet at the reception area and asked for another 3 to 4 bags to only be told they don't have more wood available they only have one bag left, REALLY we are in the bush and need a fire because it was cold and wanted a fire to warm up. What lodge like this don't have enough wood???? NOT GOOD We paid over R10 000.00 for the accommodation and another almost R7000.00 on the activities, don't you think they can atleast give us enough fire lighters to start a fire with or atleast 2 blocks for every night that we booked??? We paid the same amount for both nights it wasn't a case that we paid less for one of the nights therefor we can't get enough wood or fire lighters. It would’ve been better if they then rather left everything and said listen you sell wood and firelighters at reception, we must make sure to buy enough and then have ENOUGH wood to buy. I will not visit this lodge or any of DREAM resorts again and would surely not recommend them to anybody again because the price that we paid and what we got was just not acceptable. It probably makes sense when you speak to the rangers on the lodge why they are only working there for very short period of times. Apparently, there is 3 people leavin

A fantastic stay at Finfoot! Great location, very relaxing. We had a luxurious tent, very well presented and furnished. The staff is very friendly. The activities proposed are great and varied. We were sad to go, but we shall be back. Thank you

We received excellent service from the moment we arrived until we left. The staff are all very professional and friendly. Our unit was very clean and comfortable. Every meal was delicious. It would help if guests could be advised in advance of the hyacinth on the dam to avoid disappointment if planning to fish. Either than that, we had an awesome stay.

We had a wonderful experience. Very attentive rangers, well organized with daily scheduled activities for kids and adults. My daughters (10 ,8yrs) had a fantastic time collecting stickers for all activities available so they can win the prizes. Our chalet was clean, cozy and serviced twice a day. We booked with breakfast and dinner daily and ordered lunch from the restaurant which was reasonable. The chalet had a small bar fridge. The food is really tasty, and you burn all the calories during the planned activities;). Lots of animals to see in game drives, bush walks, segway safari tour and canoeing. Rangers are knowledgeable, fun and provide snacks during all the activities. We checked in over the weekend, it was busy with other families and children. We checked out mid-week and it was sooo peaceful. We were the only family with children remaining. Highly recommended!!!
