Rusutsu Resort Hotel & Convention recensioner

Generally great experience for first time skiers! They provide equipment rental and lockers at a rather steep price but that’s to be expected. Hotel at the 2 wings can be confusing especially when it comes to lockers. Food was mid but we loved the onsen!

Far more convenient than the Westin although the rooms are standard Japanese 4 star style. The room is only cleaned every 4 days but they empty the trash daily. Direct ski in ski out (unlike the Westin which is only connected by Monorail to ski in/ski out) and lots of cute little baby slopes to play with for kids below 4. Private instructors charge 10-15k per hour

Everything is ok but it is a little dated. Very family friendly. Restaurant options are limited.

Truly ski in ski out resort. Convenient, good gear, with a lot of food varieties. Will visit again!

Very good resort

This place is weird. If you’re into animatronics and kitsch, this might be your place. The food is quite good, especially the Chinese breakfast buffet. The onsen is very good too. But the building is a labyrinth, with the same Irish jig music following you on repeat down its endless corridors. The staff were ok, but the atmosphere was just a bit odd.

Great with most amenities at door step from ski rental to locker room. Really convenient. For some reason they don’t make the bed every day and only took out the rubbish and provide fresh towels. They also have luggage storage if required. Room is relatively small for family but not too bad.

Wonderful experience staying in Rusutsu Resort, clean room and comfort bed. Easy access to ski/snowboarding. Perfect for family travel.

We went in start of season so only 1x basic slope and 1x intermediate slope was open. But the basic slope was reserved for use for school trip which was going on at that time, and as we were news to skiing, we couldn't ski at all. The resort should have informed us beforehand that they are hosting the large school trip, so we could have looked for alternative places like niseko.  The English speaking counter staff were only unable or unwilling to provide advice and help. Very negative visit to Japan as a whole this time round, compared to my part visit just before COVID. The whole country (from resort to JR/subway line staff) seem to be overwhelmed with too many tourists. Will not want to go to Japan again.

Great location near Lake Toya and other scenic places . Very few dining options and its theme park is partially opened. However, there is a good connection between the resort and The Westin. There are 2 Onsens within the resort plus one in The Westin.

Experience first snowfall and ski experience. It was amazing.
