HM Mar Blau

We are not normally people to complain, but this hotel was very poor considering it was supposedly a 4*. I would push at a 3*. During our 7 night stay, we had 3 room changes and numerous rude interactions with the staff at reception, particularly Sergi who was very rude and not helpful. We booked a studio and were given 2 ground floor rooms (which wasn’t the problem). But it became evident very quickly that there was a clear ant infestation as both rooms we were given on ground floor were covered with thousands of ants. The first room we were given had a broken lock on the back door which also disabled the air conditioning from working, alongside damaged bedside and kitchen cabinets. We were told the maintenance team would be there in 10 minutes to fix the door, but 3 hours later nobody had arrived. We requested a room change as we didn’t feel safe leaving the room and all our belongings in an unlockable room which was accessible from the balcony. We were moved to another ground floor studio which was mouldy and also infested with ants. We tolerated the ants outdoors as there is nothing we could do about that, but it became a problem when they started invading the room and covering all of our clothes and belongings. This is where the staff became very rude and told us that “we are on an island with ants and mosquitos so there is nothing we can do”. Whilst the ants and mosquitos did not bother us, it became a problem when they were uncontrollably entering the room from the balcony even when the doors were shut. When I went to reception, reluctantly we were given a bottle of bug spray to spray around the balcony door and inside the room which killed the ants in the room but didn’t stop them from entering. We went back to reception the next day and asked for a room off the ground floor as the ants were clearly a ground floor issue, but we were offered a third ground floor flat, and at this point we had learnt our lesson to check the room before moving in and yet again this third room was also infested with ants both on the balcony and in the room itself. We refused the room and finally got a room on the second floor and there was not an ant in sight. Not only did we not have an ant infestation, the cleaners also made more of an effort. Whilst on the ground floor, cleaners only changed the bathroom towels and didn’t make the bed or clean anything, but in our second floor room our bed was made, towels changed, room cleaned, glass on balcony wiped and even swept the floors. It looks like the more money you pay for the room the more effort the cleaners put in which is appalling. If the cleaners made more effort on the ground floor rooms, maybe the ants wouldn’t be such a problem? Throughout my stay, I spoke to multiple other people who were staying in a ground floor room and also had issues with ants. Consequently, the staff should be more approachable and understanding when dealing with these complaints as it is clearly a hotel issue. Ove

Could be improved: - Hotel spa showers where we had to shower on the last day had no doors and no privacy - There was no late checkout available - The rooms were run down - The beds were uncomfortable - The room floor was rarely swept, covered in dirt and sand. I asked for a brush so I could do it, but they would not give me one - Always short on towels, rarely given 4 (for 4 people in room) - Gym was poor, very hot, hardly any equipment Done well - Great food - Nice clean pool - Very polite, helpful restaurant and bar staff - Lots of sun beds

Disappointing that you can't use the pool until 10am when lifeguard arrives. Plenty of sunbeds so no missing out because people have already been down at 6am to put a towel on them. Location is great, 5 min walk to the beach and restaurants. Although self catering there is only a hob so no microwave or oven so basic cooking. There is a small supermarket attached to hotel for supplies. Was ok for our short 5 day stay.

This hotel is excellent! We were here in august 2025 as a family of 4. When you walk in reception you are welcomed by very friendly staff, who are alsof very helpfull with anything you need. The appartements are lovely. We stayed at a one bedroom appartement. The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, and there is also a kettle and different types of tea to choose from, a fridge and a hotplate. There is no oven or microwave. The airco works excellent in the livingroom aswell in the bedroom, you can alsof adjust it yourself, which is very handy. The bathroom has a bath with a shower and comes with showergel and shampoo. There's a big mirror and a smaller make up mirror attached, a hairdryer and handwash. The swimmingpool is beautiful, there is a big pool and a smaller one for kids. The pool opens at 10 and there are lots of deckchairs for everyone, and it is not allowed to put your towels on it, which is brillant! The pool is surrounded by pinetrees and palmtrees, so beautiful! There is also a smaller indoorpool, a gym and a spa. There is a Spar supermarket inside the hotel, which comes in so handy! Everyday they bake their own baguettes. I can't comment on the food as we were selfcatering and ate out everyday. The hotel is very beautiful and is situated between 2 resorts, Cala Millor and Sa Coma, both beautiful with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. I do recommend to hire bikes, as for me personally walking there was just a bit too far, especially in the heat. But by bike you are there in 5 minutes. There is a very beautiful bike path next to the beach which brings you to both resorts and even further if you want to. In all i recommend this beautiful hotel so much and we will definately be back!

Lovely entertainment nice pool and fun games in the afternoon pool table and air hockey were enjoyable different events on every night and nice rooms with a kitchen etc, beds were comfortable and made everyday nice shop connected to the main building by the bar and the pool, perfect for a snack or drink. Easy access down to the beach just down the road and taxi service for longer distances

Good condition, sufficient time to manage meals at least 3 hours, good food, friendly staff just minor maintenance issues with the shower, and more entertainment after dinner.
