Berger's Sporthotel

Had a fantastic time, yet again, at the Berger's Sporthotel. The junior suite was very comfortable and turned over to a very good standard each day. The choice and quality of the breakfast and evening meals were excellent. Staff were most helpful with nothing being too much trouble. Will definitely be back!!! and my sincere thanks to Mrs Berger and her team for a most enjoyable stay.

What a fantastic week in the Bergers Sporthotel which is a family run hotel. Thank you to Mrs Berger and the team you have made us really welcome and the service has been perfect! The hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay with lovely spa and swimming pool, great restaurant and lovely choice of meals. I would particularly recommend the fish dishes which were beautiful but all meal choices were top quality. The hotel is in the perfect location right in the centre of the town close to all lifts and bars. I would definitely look to book to stay here again!

Had the best week here with our boys.. Loved the hotel, beautifully kept history if you love some nostalgia.. Staff were all amazing and looked after us. Perfect location and good food. Highly recommend. Thank you for looking after us xxxxx

Super location in the centre of Saalbach and a short walk to 3 gondolas. Staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. Hotel itself is dated but as long as you don't mind some quirky decor not a problem. Access to the spa and wellness area a bonus.

Our third year staying at the Berger's Sporthotel. This charming family run retro Hotel is just great, the staff are warm and friendly and greeted us like old friends when we arrived, most of them were here when we first visited three years ago and it was a pleasure to find them still working here! The food is lovely, generous and varied, with a choice of three main courses each day. The choice of salad starters is amazing, and the desserts and cheese board too tempting to resist. Breakfast is a self service buffet with everything you could ever wish for, to start the day! Our rooms were clean and welcoming, and serviced every day. The swimming pool is a great way to ease the aches and pains of the day's skiing, and the spa area with sauna and steam room a relaxing treat. All of which is included in the price of the room. We will definitely be back next year!

A very quirky hotel, full of character with lovely, helpful staff - subject to a bit of eccentricity. We had a very large room in the hotel Annex (across the street). Nice big beds, great bathroom, nice private balcony (702, if you fancy it). Pretty quiet at night, although this is a hotel in the very centre of town, so there is some street noise late at night. Nothing an earplug couldn't cure. The room was a bit too hot for us, but we were able to turn off the heating at night and swap to lighter duvets, so that was fine. If you are in the Annex, you do of course have to cross the street to use the facilities - sauna, pool and restaurant/bar. We loved the pool and sauna. We were half board and it was generally good food, especially the buffet selections, which meant you could make up for a duff main course with buffet options. The hotel is presided over by a wonderful owner (Frau Berger), who comes into the restaurant most nights to chat with guests. A great character and very charming. If you are tired of bland hotels and want something characterful, this is the place for you.
