Martinhal Sagres Beach Family Resort Hotel

Great hotel, great facilities! The beach and view are beautiful!

We randomly chose this resort. I am so glad we lucked into it. It was the vacation from our vacation that we needed after some hectic days in Lisbon. The resort has multiple pools, a beautiful beach, a very nice pool, and many activities for children of all ages. We never eat at a hotel restaurant, but are glad we did this time. We ate at two of their restaurants. Both were very good. I would suggest reading all of the menus to choose the one that best fits your needs. We stayed in one of the villas. It had a reasonably appointed kitchen. The intermarche is just six minutes away to stock up on wine, breakfast and lunch treats.

What a place for families to unwind in - tranquil, and a lovely way to spend time together and stay busy as well. There is something for everyone here. 5 pools - all heated, indoor and outdoor; tennis courts and lessons; archery; forest school; kids club; various playgrounds dotted everywhere including the beach - just a few of the delights here!

We stayed here for a week mid October as a couple with a 15 month old. Positives The weather was stunning (early 20s) and it’s a beautiful location (worth the private transfer of 90 mins ). The resort’s concept of being family friendly was spot on - baby friendly meals, lots to do for under 10 year olds. The staff were so helpful and warm. The food throughout was outstanding! Mornings on the private beach and afternoons by the pool with a cocktail - bliss! Not so positive! However, accommodation issues contribute to us on giving this a 4* review. The garden room apartment we booked as an upgrade wasn’t good. It needed some serious TLC and money spent on it. We spoke to maintenance three times in the first 36 hours due to a broken bathroom window catch (so the window sporadically opened - mostly at night), a broken lounge window seal (so kept flooding in the lounge after rain), the fridge shelves/frozen compartment was broken (not all useable), plus the microwave needing replacing (never worked). The cleaning wasn’t great as I found small plastic on the floor and someone else’s hair clip under a sofa. The final straw was damp around the patio door. Not very 5*! The staff however turned it around, were always polite and we got a free upgrade to an ocean house - so contrasting and it was amazing! We would consider returning, but out of season and avoid the garden rooms! I’ve shared photos of both the apartment and the ocean house.

It’s an amazing resort to bring a young family very relaxing and chilled. Had everything you need in the resort. Amazing food for adults and with amazing facilities for kids. Staff were great with the kids. Great mix of restaurants. Loved that the pools are heated for a cooler October.

Martinhal is a very Family friendly Resort straight by the seaside. There is a lot to do for the Kids and very friendly and helpfull staff. The Housing is very generously and you will find everything you need. Breakfast and poolbar are Highlight recommanded.

A brilliant holiday complex particularly for young families. We had a lovely 3 bedroom house with pool,.it had everything we could possibly want for a relaxing holiday. We are in 2 of the restaurants at the resort and we're very impressed by the friendly, professional staff who couldn't do enough for us and really interacted with our granddaughter. Concierge service was fantastic when our key cards stopped working but this was very quickly remedied. So thank you for a fantastic resort

Great location with beautiful views and with lots of activities and facilities for kids. The trampolines and swimming pools were highlights. Good breakfast buffet and beautiful views from the restaurant over the beach and bay. Located well for trips in the surrounding areas

From start to finish we had a fantastic time. The transfer from the airport to check in was all seamless and we were in our room (124 beach suite) in no time. Room The room itself was fantastic, bedroom up top and spacious bottom floor. Both floors have excellent views of the sea. Coffee machine etc is great. Cleaning staff were fantastic and the room was spotless each day. Food All restaurants are excellent. We had breakfast in O'Terraco each morning which was buffet (eggs to order) with a vast selection. In the evening we switched between all restaurants with Oz Gambizinos and O'Terraco a favourite. Oz Gambinzinos with the added attraction of a large playpark out the front which was great. Fish was amazing in all restaurants. Each restaurant has a supervised play area which was great for the little one! Faciltiies Used the gym a couple of times which was good to have. All the pools were excellent, very clean and the pool bar was great - easy to get drinks and snacks if needed. The beach is also just a short walk away. The play areas are excellent but can be busy at times. Everything was spotless. Weather Weather was really nice, around 23-25 degrees, not much wind at all. Overall If you have young kids this is a fantastic place to bring them. There are lots of facilities, pools etc to keep them happy and the fact that most restaurants bring out their food straight away is also good. Staff are first class and we had a really enjoyable stay and will definitely be booking for 2025.
