Hyde Mill

Great stay -we booked up 5 rooms for 10 of us and all were very pleased with the spacious, clean accommodation. Comfortable beds, well equipped bathroom, plenty of hot water. Very quiet, great location with ducks, very secure. Breakfast was very impressive, wide selection, best fresh fruit salad and scrambled eggs we have tasted. Polite and attentive owner. If you are in the area highly recommend staying here

On flying out of Luton we decided not to fight the M1 south with the Monday morning commuters and stayed here overnight, what a good decision that was. The location is lovely in a beautiful farm setting with a large courtyard servicing the rooms. We were greeted by Katie who was lovely and welcoming and shown to Stable 3 in the far corner. A lovely appointed room with a king size bed, TV, and wet room, everything very clean and tidy with a very good selection on the tea tray, plenty of towels. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding of a high quality. Yes there is road noise but it's more background noise and can't be avoided so you take it as one of those things. Breakfast was very good with cereal, juice, lots of fresh fruit, yogurt along with tea and fresh coffee. I opted for poached egg on toast and my wife had beans on toast with veggie sausages. We loved the room a proper farmhouse character room with fireplace and flagstone flooring in the hallway, and lovely countryside views, perfect retirement house! So for £95 it is on a par with hotels at the airport but for the homely feel and the service provided we will now always return here if we ever fly from Luton again. If you are reading this then take my advice and book here, it's also an easy 12 minute drive to Terminal 1 car park. The Fox pub is 5 mins away for your evening meal, also very good.

Two couples we stayed at the two self-catering apartments for over a week. Overall, well designed and perfectly appointed. Lovely location, ducks and geese chatting to you in the morning. Nice that they kept with the working farm style and decor. I was originally a bit concerned that we’d be chilly but the apartments were well heated. Katie does a great job of keeping the place spotless. Kitchens are well equipped, with good cupboard space to keep groceries etc. nice big fridge, all appliances are good quality. Beds comfortable. Bathroom good. All in all, highly recommended, great value.

Our converted cow shed was pristine, warm and spacious. Kitchen area includes microwave, sink and fridge. Comfy sofa and bed. My in-laws had two rooms next door to us. Peaceful despite being close to the motorway. Beautiful setting by the river, surrounded by green fields. Katie was accommodating, professional and friendly, allowing us to check in early. Our breakfast, cooked to order - with good choices including full English, fresh fruit and cereals. Good base for walks, near Harpenden town - but dark lanes at night - we had no trouble getting a cab, but that could be a problem. We’ll be back for a longer stay!

Beautifully green location, just outside Harpenden (a £5 Uber away) Hyde Mill is one of those places where you instantly relax. Really tastefully converted old farm buildings, lovely furnishings, you just feel at home. The owner is v pro, was helpful and flexible, made everything easy. Breakfast was amazing. Fresh fruit salad (slightly different variations to suit all tastes) quality yoghurts, good juice, cereals too and a v tasty full English warm breakfast, fantastic start to the day. Hyde Mill is what all B&Bs should aspire to be.

What can i say, We arrived to a beautiful farm and met the lovely Katie, we were shown to our room which was a beautiful converted stable, stable by name only, lovely flooring, a beautiful wet room and views that were breath taking, the lovely village of Harpenden is just down the road, lots of little pubs and eaterys, Breakfast was A1! And we really couldnt of wanted for more! We are hoping to come back again soon!
