Le Clos Normand

We discovered this hotel about 2 years ago when we were passing through. We returned to St. Aubin Sur Mer this year but because we were staying longer than a night we booked into a camp site we had found. We visited the restaurant twice because the food is superb and the staff are so helpful and friendly not too expensive but the food is great quality. Really would recommend this restaurant for a special meal.

I find it hard to give an overall rating to this hotel. My wife tells me to "be positive" so let's start with the positives. There is free parking right outside and the hotel leads directly onto the promenade, as shown in the picture. Vincent, whose English is excellent, gave us a very good welcome and there is a lift to the upper floors. Our sea view room gave us a lovely 'panoramique' view of the ocean and the free wifi worked well. For those interested in WW11 the beach was 'Juno Beach' in the Normandy landings and there are plenty of memorials and reminders of those dark days; there is even a German gun emplacement complete with gun on the promenade. However; the room was quite small and was so simply furnished and decorated as to be austere; it felt like a student flat. The wardrobe was fitted with folding doors that were not of the best quality, the bathroom had been refurbished and had 2 wash basins, side by side, which left almost no space to use the toilet. The bath had a shower head over but no shower screen or curtain. Given it's positives the hotel offers good value but, for us, the negatives outweigh the positives and we wouldn't recommend staying here.

We stayed here with family for one week in August. This is a lovely little place. Everything is very clean and well organised, and the staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms seem to be recently renovated and clean. The hotel is situated at the beach front and the beach itself is good for kids as it gets deeper very gradually. Despite the high season the town was not crowded, so it was a relaxing esperience. The wifi works well in the rooms and is fast enough. In the common places it is quite slow.

Nous avons passé un moment très agréable dans cette hôtel restaurant idéalement situé. Un accueil très professionnel, et toute l'équipe a été formidable. Une chambre très spacieuse avec une vue imprenable sur la mer (suite Normandie), une salle de bain avec une très grande baignoire, très appréciable après les quelques heures de route qui nous ont menées jusqu'à ce très charmant hôtel. Et un vrai temps de repos sur une literie très confortable, avec la fenêtre ouverte, et le bruit des vagues Un dîner face à la mer avec des produits d'une belle qualité et un service tout en sourires. Beaucoup de choix de produits frais pour le petit déjeuner, toujours face à la mer. Facile d'accès, possibilité de se garer sur place. Expérience à renouveler.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce charmant hôtel situé sur la promenade piétonne face a la mer . Outre sa situation privilégiée, l’accueil y est très aimable , les chambres (suite océan) sont spacieuses et claires avec un joli balcon aménagé vue mer - d’où nous avons admiré le soleil couchant- et une décoration moderne et cosy. La grande salle de bain est bien équipée . Le plateau de courtoisie et les bouteilles d’eau sont un vrai plus . Le tout pour un excellent rapport qualité/prix. Le petit déjeuner est un régal avec une offre très variée de très bons produits (le fromage blanc et les pains sont de vraies gourmandises)! Le seul bémol serait le restaurant : la salle vue mer est ravissante avec de jolies tables nappées de blanc , le service est charmant mais les plats n’ont vraiment rien de gastronomiques et pourraient être un peu plus travaillés … mais néanmoins nous reviendrons .

hôtel face à la mer nous avions la chambre 111, le seul bémol c’est qu’il est impossible de s’asseoir sur les toilettes , les genoux touchent la paroi de la douche ! ainsi que de la confiture anglaise au petit déjeuner ! literie très bien nous avons pris nos repas au restaurant c’était très bon, petit déjeuner très copieux mais je maintiens que je trouve dommage que ca soit de la confiture anglaise alors que nous avions du bon beurre d’Isigny ! parking gratuit devant l’hôtel, ascenseur, non négligeable.
