Hôtel le Sherpa Val Thorens

A review is absolutely necessary for Le Sherpa. We had the best week here, which was a trip for my 30th, from the friendliness of the staff to the amazing food each night. I don't have a bad word to say about this hotel, a few reviews mention the dated decor but it's just traditional chalet style and adds to the coziness of the place. The staff couldn't do enough for us, on the first night we asked for a kettle in the room while at dinner, by the time we went back to the room it was there. We loved how easy it was to ski back to the hotel, which was via an easy blue run. To ski out you have to walk a couple of minutes to the slop, which wasn't an issue as it warmed us up nicely before starting to ski. The location of the hotel is fabulous, it takes a couple of minutes to walk into the town which has lots of bars/pubs and supermarkets. The hotel is also ideal for anyone wanting to visit Folie Douce, it was just one chair lift up and then a 5 minute ski back to the hotel via an easy blue run. We would definitely choose Le Sherpa again if we came back to Val Thorens!

Just closed out a visit to the Sherpa hotel which presented us with a great location to snowboard getting in Was easy off the back of the Plein Sud piste getting out you had a short lung busting walk up out the back heading off into the town where u can access many different lifts to get you up and out into the huge VT resort The hotel itself I thought the rooms were tired and the mattress on both beds needing replacing felt like sleeping in a half pipe. There is a great bar area and the staff were brilliant. The prices in the bar do need reviewing we all know it’s expensive however we found this bar to be over priced and there was no local house wine just expensive bottles of wine Restaurant was excellent sweet trolley was amazing and all the dishes we had over the week tasted and looked great again the staff in the restaurant were brilliant and made us feel very welcome great sauna and ice bath for the brave which we did use all week

Le Sherpa is a lovely family owned hotel with very friendly staff. Well located just above the main road of bars and shops in the resort. Ski in is direct to the hotel. Ski out requires a short walk up a small hill which was not a problem. Good boot room. All very convenient. There is a really lovely sun terrace which is great for après ski. The bar was also very cozy with a good drinks menu. Food was excellent especially the dinner each night. Our room was comfortable. We paid extra for a panorama room which was worth it for the balcony and view where you could watch the sunset over the mountains. All in all we had a lovely week staying here and would be more than happy to return in future.
