St Mawes Hotel

Exceptional. A busy evening where everywhere was fully booked, but by chance enquired re a table for four. The manager went out his way to accommodate, and his continued attention ensured we had a fantastic meal. Credit to him, and all staff.

This was our evening stop on a long journey to The Minack to perform for a week. We love St Mawes but had not staid in the village before. The hotel was a surprise amazingly friendly and helpful staff. The room was fantastic and we had an amazing view across the bay. Our meal that night was really good and as we were both really tired probably didn’t do it justice. We will definitely be back it was relaxed and friendly.

Ben who runs the place is absolutely BOSS ! He is a true credit to the hotel and runs it with professionalism and friendliness in abundance. Well done Ben and we will be back. My only slight irk was that the family room had an issue with the frying vent outside which I think needs attention as it can be quite overpowering.

Lovely hotel for lunch. We went 2 days in a row. Weather was lovely so we had lunch on the balcony both days. Food was excellent and good value for the quality. Ben who served us was friendly knowledgable and provided excellent service. Views amazing. Although we only had lunch here we were impressed enough to consider coming back to stay for a few nights.

We have been to St Mawes many times over the last few years but had never eaten at the St Mawes Hotel. Last week, we popped in for Sunday lunch and loved it so much that we went back 3 days later for dinner! Great food, with lovely views if upstairs. Super chilled atmosphere and the friendliest staff! Will definitely be eating here again when we come back to St Mawes.

After staying in St Mawes village in June and eating regularly in the evening at the St Mawes Hotel Upper Deck, we have returned for another break. We were just so pleased to learn that Ben was still at the Hotel/Restaurant. He is an absolute star. Exceptionally professional with a big smile and a great personality. So helpful too. Brett, Alfie and Georgi cannot do enough for us. Great food. So it is a HUGE thank you to you all Kind regards Angela and Geoff

Went for drinks on a couple of occasions, including live music night which was very good. Friendly service and a manager, Ben, who did everything possible to accommodate a group[ of five plus a small granddaughter aged two and a half. Will definitely be back.

Having had a lovely experience last year with friends we decided to re visit the st Mawes hotel for dinner and we could not have been more bitterly disappointed. The main course Hake was extremely over salted to the extent you couldn’t eat it and the cherry almond tart was bitter because the tart had been burnt . If you want a good pizza then this is the place anything above this standard I would research some where else to eat in st mawes as you are likely to be disappointed

We booked for breakfast here. It was a good thing we were not in a hurry as, despite there being loads of staff milling about, the service was slower than you can imagine. Not only that but when the food came, two of the orders were wrong. Given the time that it had taken for the food to materialise we said nothing and ate what arrived. The quality of the food, coffee etc is good but service here, whether it’s the bar, the lower deck or the upper deck consistently fails to meet the standard one should expect from this class of establishment. We had a dinner reservation the week before. We arrived on time but had to wait half an hour before our table was available, presumably due to the slow and chaotic service.
