Great location and tranquility for who wants a peaceful stay in the bodmin moor. The access to the main road is very easy and can go to any part of Cornwall quickly. Colliford lake is the beautiful place to spent time. Walking on the moor is also a wonderful things to do.

Fantastic location stops there booked 3 nights camping staff unfriendly very dismissive the toilet blocks could cope with dated but where absolutely filthy black mould and did not get cleaned once rubbish still there when leaving left a day early so we could have a decent shower toilet rolls damp or missing The other facilities horrendous would not want to use Site overall needed a lot of TLC and unloved Got email from them to say glad you enjoyed your stay at the hotel? Sent email no response Would have rated zero for review but couldn’t

Worst experience, Had to leave the property very next day after a sleepless night. Room condition was extremely dirty, dusty, with spider webs with big spiders, flush not working TV not working, bad smell in hallway and rooms. Had to get hoover cleaning done and use room freshener. There were rashes on skin when sat on the sofa in room.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Turnpike Lodge. The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great décor and crisp bed sheets. The breakfast was delicious. a huge variety of options of food Menu The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Nice lake view restaurant, tasty food, comfortable stay, friendly staff , budget friendly as well so I can’t fault the place and will definitely go back.

I recently stayed at colliford tavern had a very good experience the rooms are good for a very cheap price.Staff very welcoming and attentive. The check-in process was smooth, and I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of my room. Amazing stay

I have to say I am puzzled by the 5 star reviews given to this place. I agree with other reviewers that there is a warm, friendly and helpful welcome for guests but my recent stay in one of the main building rooms was my first and last. The whole place needs significant investment to address the tired and shabby conditions throughout. I was the only guest on the evening I stayed which perhaps tells its own story. On the plus side I had a very enjoyable meal from the Indian menu offered alongside the traditional pub food options. I hope the owners do spend some much needed cash on refurbishment because given the location this place could be wonderful .

Last minute stay in one of their pods. Staff very welcoming and helpful and the pod itself was very warm and welcoming. Bed was comfortable and everything was nice andclean. Chairs for sitting outside when it’s not chucking it down. Beautiful views across Colliford Lake which I can imagine is lovely during the summer having a pint in the beer garden. All that you need for a camping stay without a tent!
