The Westin Beach Resort & Spa at Frenchman’s Reef

We just spent 10 terrible nights at the Westin in St Thomas and I am heart broken it was such a terrible hotel experience. The whole hotel is having an AC issue and has been for at least a few weeks.Also, the service is horrible every where at the resort. Every interaction was difficult with the staff. They are short staffed so the staff has a chip on their shoulder at all times and it made it so hard to relax and enjoy the trip. Our trip was to celebrate my daughters law school graduation and her upcoming clerkship with a federal judge and I put so much time, effort and money to make it a wonder trip and we could of stayed at a holiday inn express and has a cleaner room and better service. The pool area and common areas are filthy. Cobwebs were all over the railings. There is no food and beverage service at the pool and one day they even closed the pool bar for a private party and set up a makeshift bar with a folding table but of course the drinks were still $15 a pop. They ran out of towels every afternoon and could if cared less. On Friday and Saturday there was someone serving at the beach but they came and went every few hours so you couldn't relax and rely on it. The elevators were very slow and there were roaches in the elevator on multiple occasions. The 3 restaurants were very limited with almost no fruit and vegetables options that were fresh. There is only one place to get breakfast and it was buffet and not good either.

AC was not working properly. We notified maintenance and nothing was done. Door wouldn’t lock properly. We expected higher quality for what we paid

The air conditioning does not work. It did not work for our entire stay. The pool area had garbage around it, ( empty cups, cans and cigarette packs). The pool was murky looking. The wait staff ,very nice but possibly understaffed and not well trained. There were employees smoking pot in the bathrooms. The wait staff were busy watching TikTok videos rather than seating people. Our room was never serviced unless we requested towels. There was not enough soap or shampoo. Extremely disappointed with the quality of our stay and were told on more than one occasion that the Westin was opened, but was quite evidently not ready to be functioning as a hotel yet.

The stay overall was wonderful, the views were breathtaking, the staff and atmosphere was fantastic. Breakfast was amazing and quality of food, unmatched. The only downside was the air conditioning did not cool the room at all, during the night we were awakened due to the temperature in the room.

After paying $700 a night W/terrible ac it’s a “WONT GO BACK” location Beautiful place / location No / Poor Ac is totally unacceptable & SHOULD be told to guest especially paying this much Also Not 1 air conditioned restaurant on property WHY ??!??

Waited over two hours to get our room and then our suitcases were thrown into our room after calling bc we were waiting for our bags an additional hour . All the food sucks and so expensive . No taste . Kept getting our food orders wrong

I enjoyed every minute of my stay. The staff was so kind & helpful. The grounds were beautiful.

Beautiful property. Kind front desk agents, as well as Jamari (absolute customer service rock star) and the security agents. Salt Shack was beautiful - waitress Nathalie was so kind. Highly recommend. Downsides: Valet service is expensive ($35/night) but self-park ($25/night) is a trek if your room is in the main building. We spent time all over the island and other islands so renting a car was easier than calling cabs, but parking fee was not optional. The taxes and resort fees total a few hundred dollars a night so room rate was $580/night but final bill was about $750-800/night.

Expensive overall, but was worth it. Loved the friendly staff & especially the excellent breakfast!
