Emerald Beach Resort

Nice place- but my room NEVER got maid service and I had to fetch my own clean towels. They must charge extra for hot water-- since there was none in this shower-- despite calling the hotel's attention to it twice. I first tried to CALL reception but... the phone had no dial tone. Reception just said, "I only do the beach towels"... and never even recorded my complaint. Second try got as shrug and "I'll file for maintenance." Food was on par but you will wait forever for it to find you. Bottom line- on my "never again" list because of the ABSENCE of service and lack of basics (like a warm shower- or maid service). On a scale of 100 Emerald Beach gets a 15 for location (after a small deduction for airplane noise (the runway id literally at the foot of the property) and zeros for facility overall and service. Find another place to stay.

We stayed at Emerald in 2016 and had a good experience so decided to go there again. Not the same Emerald we stayed at. We also switched to 2 different rooms in 2 of the buildings had similar issues. First there were bugs. The showers would fluctuate from scalding hot to freezing cold. Our AC in one room froze up one night which luckily we were able to fix ourselves by just cleaning the disgusting filter in it. Restaurant service was terrible. We would sit there for long periods of time just to be greeted. We felt invisible. There was 1 server and 1 bartender there that we came in contact with that did a great job and we were very happy with though. I will say that they probably need more staff because when cruise ships come in, I don’t think they have enough staff to handle these things. The cruise ship people would come in and trash the place and the bathrooms would smell like pee and be filthy the rest of the day and there were 2 times we could barely get service. I’ve worked in a restaurant for 13years and I try to have a lot of patience but this was absolutely terrible. We left the resort days early and went to another. I wish we did that sooner. I will add that I did contact the resort and they did respond to me. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this resort and we will not be going back. What we experienced at a different resort was like night and day. It’s disappointing to say the least.

The restaurant was good, but slow service. The beach gets very crowded on cruise ship days. On the off days it was quiet & relaxing. Overall it was good for price & I would stay here again.

Very nice beach! Great beach bar and restaurant. Nice pool. Downsides? The airport is right next door so you hear the planes. But it’s not that busy so it’s not too bad. In fact you can walk to the hotel from the airport. About 300 yards.

For a hotel close the the airport, this was a very good expeience. Everything was clean, the convience of having a restaurant and bar on the property made it very nice to not have to venture out to find food. The beach is excellent and very beautiful with no rocks or seaweed.

After our flight was canceled on Spirit we stayed in this cozy beachfront property. Close to airport, bar on site, food. Excellent. Thank you.

The restaurant had great food and wonderful view of the ocean. Our waiter was very friendly. However, the room’s air conditioner barely worked. Our roll away bed was a blown up air mattress.

Everyone except the outside bartenders were horrible! They were extremely rude, insulting, not helpful, kitchen closed, no food, no a/c in our friend’s room and I will NEVER go back. Mattress hard as a rock. My neck is still recovering four days later. Do yourself a favor and pick a different property.

We stayed for one night before a flight back home. The beach bar and bartenders were exceptional but there was no food anywhere on the property as the kitchen was closed for repairs. I think the property could definitely be a 5 star.
