Villa Alecya

We caught the ferry to Cherbourg and faced a gruelling 8 hour drive to our final destination, so I decided to find us a hotel to break up the journey. I stumbled across Villa Alecya by chance by searching for hotels on Google maps just south of Tours. We booked a room, crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. After a 4 hour drive from Cherbourg, we finally pulled up to the magnificent green gates of the Chateau and received a very warm welcome from Christophe. We drove up the driveway and we were left open mouthed at just how stunningly beautiful the grounds and Chateau are! Christophe gave us a tour of the downstairs, before taking us up to our room. He explained that it is a Belle Epoque Chateau which was very run down with overgrown gardens when they bought back in 2017, and they spent 2 years lovingly restoring it. There’s a picture book in one of the salons with before and after pics. Each room we saw was beautifully and tastefully decorated, with the original features brought back to life. The gardens are also just gorgeous. We stayed in the beautiful Madam Butterfly room, which had its own private terrace overlooking the driveway (we enjoyed a bottle of wine out there that night). This was one of those moments where you are delighted to discover you have found a real gem!! The Chateau is located in a very pretty, traditional old village called St Catherine de Fois Bois. There is a three minute walk to an Auberge (restaurant) in the centre of the village, serving excellent food with great service. We had breakfast the next day on the terrace with delicious food. We absolutely loved our stay here and didn’t want to leave! We will definitely return! Many thanks to Christophe and Anna for a wonderful stay!

An amazing building superbly maintained. Belle Epoque architecture on a scale I have never before witness. All sorts of curious nooks and crannies inside and out. Seventeen of us spent a long weekend here and there was more than enough room for us to spread out and enjoy the amenities. Would recommend Villa Alecya to anybody.

A truly magnificent villa . The owner is a true and gracious gentleman whose pride of his and his wife's accomplishments is well deserved. Our only regret is not spending more time in this fabulous villa. Definitely the high-lite of our trip to France.

From the time you pull into the gate you realize you have arrived at a very special place. The owner is there to greet you and show you your room you have chosen. Everywhere you look in the house you will find carefully thought out decorations that exude the excellent taste of the hosts. You immediately feel at home and are instantly asked if there is anything you need. If are looking for a place to relax or just call home for a while, Villa Alecya is the place to go. My wife and I stayed here in September for 5 nights. My wife was pregnant at the time and Ana and Christoph couldn’t have been more accommodating! They are so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much. Breakfast is beautiful and more than you could ever eat with lots of homemade jams. Ana’s food is amazing if you’re lucky enough to try it (especially the Duck!). This was our first holiday after all the lock downs and we were so happy to have found them. We can’t recommend them highly enough! X

Superbe manoir Belle Epoque, rénové avec soin et magnifiquement décoré par Anna et Christophe, qui nous ont accueilli avec beaucoup de gentillesse. Cette propriété à nulle autre pareille en Touraine est nichée dans un grand parc au cœur du village de Sainte-Catherine-de-Fierbois, à proximité de nombreux Châteaux de la Loire. Chaque chambre est dotée d’une déco et d’une ambiance particulière et il nous faudra donc revenir plusieurs fois pour les essayer toutes… mais chacune d’entre elles est spacieuse, claire et confortable. Merci à Anna et Christophe d’avoir partagé avec nous l’histoire de ce lieu et de nous avoir prodigué de précieux conseils de visite !
