Le Clos Saint Jean

My wife and I stayed here during a long-anticipated trip to Normandy. We were absolutely charmed by Caroline and her beautiful home. She met us in the courtyard and showed us to our room, which was private and perfect. Her warmth and patience with our non-existent French was so genuine and welcoming. The property is nestled in a quiet community on rolling hills above the eastern edge of Omaha Beach. We walked about 10 minutes down the only street to find the beach. The only other people were locals picking mussels from pools left behind at low tide. We were so pleased to find ourselves on such hallowed ground with nothing around but cliffs and the English Channel. Caroline recommended an excellent restaurant in Port en Bessin for dinner, and we woke around 8:00am to roosters crowing (not in a bad, wake you up too early way, but a charming French farm country way), and a delicious breakfast in the morning. I can’t recommend Le Clos Saint Jean enough and will be back next time we’re in Normandy. Oh, and what a great price!

A beautiful, peaceful B & B in a great location for the D-Day beaches and surrounding area. Our hosts were fabulous, very welcoming & really went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Caroline is very proud of the area and will give you great tips on where to visit and the best places to eat. Plus, the breakfast in amazing, especially if you’re lucky enough to stay when there are crispy crepes on the menu!!

Wonderful three-night stay in a family suite. The B&B is clean, beautiful and comfortable and a great value. Caroline was a wonderful host, going out of her way to help us with anything we needed. Nice location - quiet and relaxing, a short walk to a beach, and short drive to restaurants, shops and D-Day sites. And the breakfast was delicious! 100% recommend.

Eine Perle ! Traumhafte Lage, sehr schöne Zimmer, alles sehr sauber, herzlicher Empfang durch die Vermieterin selbst. Es kann nicht schöner sein. A Pearl! Fantastic location, very nice rooms, everything very clean, warm welcome from the landlady herself. It couldn’t be better Emplacement fantastique, très belles chambres, tout est très propre, accueil chaleureux de la propriétaire elle-même.

Si j’avais pu mettre plus que 5/5, je l’aurai fait. L’endroit est magnifique, autant extérieur qu’intérieur, tout est très soigné. Caroline, l’hôte, est formidable, d’un accueil incomparable, aux petits soins et pleine de bons conseils sur les visites alentours. Le petit déjeuner qu’elle nous a servi était extraordinaire, produits faits maison et choix varié. Elle nous avait même préparé une spécialité locale que nous avons eu le plaisir de déguster. Son mari Laurent est également très sympathique. Possibilité d’acheter du cidre, pommeau, jus de pomme et autre sur place. Je recommande à 100%

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo struttura durante il nostro tour in Normandia, che dire eccezionale, le camere sono spaziose e curate, il giardino immenso e fantastico. La signora Caroline è molto gentile e disponibile ci ha preparato perfino un ottimo espresso.... Fantastica!!!!
