We stayed for only one night in Ibis Saintes but it was excellent, with friendly staff and really good food, beautifully presented.

A typical IBIS hotel, ideal for a one or two night stopover with an added bonus that it has an adjoining restaurant providing reasonable evening meals. It is also easy to access from the Autoroute The staff are courteous, friendly and helpful

Saintes is conveniently located for an overnight stay if travelling on the motorway from Bordeaux towards the ferry ports, but you will need a reliable satnav to negotiate roads from the motorway junction to the hotel, as it is a bit “round the houses” to get there! This Ibis is all on one level, though some rooms are at the end of a fairly long corridor. Friendly and helpful staff. However, we have stayed at a number of Ibis hotels over the years, but were surprised at the size and layout of the room. Unfortunately it wasn’t of the size and quality that we have come to expect of the chain. The door for the bathroom was very narrow but also functioned as the door to the bedroom, making access during the night very difficult. We left wondering whether this is a hotel that has been taken over by Ibis, rather than one being purpose built.

Stayed here twice enroute to and returning from Portugal. Rooms are small but comfortable and the shower very good. The restaurant serves decent food with dogs allowed outside on the terrace or in reception so fine if it is not summer. The staff were all very good, it has a decent area for dog walking and convenient for the motorway.

Really easy to get to, just off the autoroute. We stayed here for one night en route to Spain. Check in was the quickest i have known, with friendly, polite staff. Room was good for its purpose and bed was really comfortable with extra pillows. Good air con and great shower. Couldn’t fault breakfast, lots of choice including eggs and bacon and decent coffee. Good service at the bar and they served nice Rose. Highly recommend for a stop over. We would stay here again.

We stayed for one night on our way south. the staff were very good both at reception and in the restaurant.The service in the restaurant was very good, especially as they were very busy with a large coach party.

Si vous cherchez un hôtel où le réceptionniste est aussi imprévisible qu’un stand-up comédien en rodage, l’Ibis de Saintes est fait pour vous ! Tout commence avec une réservation pour une chambre à la journée, validée sans souci par une dame au téléphone. Jusque-là, tout va bien. Mais dès que je rappelle pour demander un mail de confirmation, le scénario dérape. le réceptionniste : “Ah non, madame, on ne fait pas de réservation à la journée ! C’est non négociable.” Petit détail : c’est eux qui avaient validé la demande. S’en suit un échange tendu où, entre deux montées de ton, il tente l’humour… mais franchement, ce n’était pas sa meilleure performance. Après avoir finalement trouvé un compromis, je me rends à l’hôtel. Là, surprise : le réceptionniste, visiblement vexé qu’on soit arrivés “trop tard”, décide de jeter le compromis à la poubelle. Résultat : plus de deal, et la chambre à 86 €. Je m’attendais à un minimum de professionnalisme pour ce prix-là, mais non : monsieur préfère improviser un one-man-show plutôt que de gérer la situation correctement. Certes, il m’a dit bonjour, mais pas au revoir. Si seulement l’humour pouvait remplacer le service client !

Op doorreis naar en van Spanje is dit een mooie stop. Vlak naast de snelweg. Eigen parkeerplaats en een eenvoudig maar smakelijk restaurant. Als het mooi weer is kun je ook op het terras borrelen. Dus je hoeft niet perse de auto weer te pakken om de stad in te gaan. Alles bij de hand. Prima plekje voor 3 sterren.
