The rooms are a bit small for this class of hotel and so is the bathroom! The service and staff are top. The location is perfect and the beach too. Restaurant Ocean Blue has excellent cuisine and is very well positioned next to the beach!

Salalah hardly has new resorts, so it was difficult to choose. Guests are mostly 55+ from German, Polish and Czech nationality. Best pick is probably the neighbouring Anantara Al Baleed, but price is double. Although when you pay € 222 per night for a simple very dated old room including breakfast it should be compensated with excellent and personal service. Compared to what you get for this in Abu Dhabi it is a pity. They claim to be a 5 star property, but this is the worst 5* hotel we ever stayed in. Pros + Complimentary airport Shuttle with friendly driver. + Early arrival but room was ready in half an hour without any charge. + Beachfront Location. + Ocean Beach House with restaurants and a roof terrace with amazing sun set view; this is probably their best asset. Cons - Old building, lobby, furniture, rooms, beds & mattresses, dated bathrooms with lots of wear and tear (showering in a bath with shower curtain is not from this century) and ugliest ‘pool deck’ ever. - We were supposed to be informed when the room was ready, but the front desk forgot us. - No assistance with bringing suitcases to the room. - Staff in general (except serving staff in OBH) is not very friendly, welcoming and trained. There is lack of management; the GM was never on the floor to see what’s going on. Even the FO manager looks like he doesn’t like his job and the property. - Bathroom light was out of order (all 3!) and when we ask to repair this, again someone looked very agitated we even asked. - [ ] Understaffed; Long cues in front of the beach bar as there was only 1 bar tender. - [ ] Beach towels very difficult to find. I had to ask to 3 different staff members and they only pointed me into the direction pfff. - [ ] No staff and service at the beach. - [ ] Dust in rooms, bathroom bin not emptied. - [ ] Choice for breakfast is very limited, no fresh juices, lots of things on the buffet are not being refilled after 09.45. Breakfast ends at 10.30. - [ ] The beach and ocean itself is nice, but there should be daily cleaning from the cigarette butts, plastic lids and tiny branches. - [ ] Most beach guests claim 2 sun loungers per person. - [ ] F&B is very very expensive.

Låt mig börja med proffsen: 1. Gratis flygplatstransfer. 2. Gratis tidig incheckning och sen utcheckning 3. Tillmötesgående personal, hälsar dig alltid med ett leende och serverar dig efter bästa förmåga. 4. Restaurangen Blue Ocean Beach House där de serverar frukosten. Den har fantastisk utsikt över havet, en perfekt start på dagen. Vi njöt av deras gästfrihet och professionalism och överlag skulle ha varit nöjda med vår vistelse, men för en incident som förstörde allt för oss (detaljer under nackdelar) Nackdelar: 1. Fastigheten verkar åldras, speciellt rum som inte har något bra om dem att nämna . Vårt var ett rum med tillgång till stranden, något på den dyra sidan men var fortfarande ganska litet, gräset utanför var inte där du kunde sitta och inte heller hade några möbler och badrummet var mycket litet utan duschutrymme, bara badkar med monterad dusch och ingen dränering förutom badkaret (super konstigt). Personalen använde handdukar för att blöta badrumsgolvet. 2. Poolerna är smutsiga och inte rengjorda ordentligt vilket gjorde vår upplevelse hemsk eftersom både jag och min fru fick en fruktansvärd ögoninfektion efter att ha tillbringat ett par timmar i poolen vilket naturligtvis förstörde hela resan för oss. Sammantaget förstört en trevlig vistelse.

We really enjoyed our stay in Your hotel. All the stuff were great! At the reception desk, cleaning and most of all in the Ocean Blue Restaurant. We Felt like every single one member of a hotel stuff was there just to take care for our comfort. Lady at the reception desk was helpful and nice. We like the Antipodes cosmetic in the bathroom. Also the room was large, comfortable and clean with the kingsize bed, we really appreciate it. We were there during Ramadan month and we wanted to order Rosé wine from a In room dining menu, but only white was available. We used the Fitness for few times and it is very well equipped. Ocean Blue Restaurant. Excelent fresh food and servis. And the restaurant manager Dexter is our number one restaurant employee. Pool area. Always enough sunbeds, pools warm and clean. Thank You. We were in the Crown Plaza Hotel for the third time and we're planning to come next March again.

Really beautiful place for vacation and business stay. Long, sandy beach facing magnificent Indian ocean. Food, especially local fruits are delicious and fresh. Service is kind and swift. Would certainly recommend this hotel! Special thanks to Shasin from Ocean Blue restaurant.

As an IHG member, I had high expectations for my stay at the Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah, but sadly, my experience was far from satisfying. The level of service and the condition of the villa facilities were completely unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. The villa I stayed in was outdated and in desperate need of maintenance. From the moment I checked in, there were numerous issues. Every time one problem was addressed, two more seemed to arise. The engineering team was careless and unprofessional— their fixes were temporary at best, and I spent far too much time chasing them to resolve issues during my stay. This is not the seamless, relaxing experience I expect as a loyal IHG member. On top of that, basic amenities were missing in all the bathrooms, which is truly shocking. I had to repeatedly request essentials that should have been provided by default, which made the whole experience frustrating. The outdoor garden area surrounding the villa was also in terrible condition. Rubbish was visible here and there, and it was evident that the staff do not maintain the area properly. The lack of attention to detail in both the villa and the surroundings was appalling. The management and team at the resort seemed particularly relaxed and indifferent to customer feedback. On several occasions, when I brought these issues to their attention, they failed to take any substantial action. Their response was lackluster, sometimes even dismissive, which only added to my frustration. To make matters worse, I discovered after reviewing my bill that I had been charged for dinners— every single day— that I NEVER had. This totaled a whopping $300! If I hadn't gone through my bill carefully, I would have been unfairly charged for something I did not consume. Mistakes like these are unacceptable, and IHG members or not, guests should never have to deal with billing discrepancies of this magnitude. As a loyal IHG member, I am deeply disappointed that my concerns were not taken seriously, nor was I made to feel valued as a guest. For the price I paid and my loyalty to the IHG brand, the level of service, maintenance, and care provided was far below expectations. I cannot recommend this resort to anyone unless major improvements are made across the board.

Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah is located just 25 minutes from Salalah airport and is located directly on a stretch of beautiful sandy beach and shoreline. Very good breakfast. Pleasant staff. Italian restaurant. Airport shuttle bus service.

After a week, we didn't want to go home. The hotel is large and well-maintained. The staff is pleasant and smiling. We were here during Ramadan, and the hotel found a way to serve alcohol. It’s important to say that we are guests in a country with certain rules, and it is completely fine to respect them. There was always an enormous amount of food. The beaches are incredible—spacious, clean, and sunbeds were always available. The room and beds were comfortable, and the room was large.

I was TOTALLY impressed by the consistent friendliness, professionalism, and excellent staff. The concierge, front desk, and recommended guides were superior. The staff never once disappointed us, and were friendly from the first moment to the very last. Restaurant services were excellent, and housekeeping staff phenomenal. I'd avoid the food at the "bar"club that has live music each night, hopefully they'll improve that food and its lack of aesthetics on the balcony. We LOVED staying there.

Mixed experience at Crowne Plaza Salalah. We visited during Ramadan so expected some limitations but didn’t really feel very limited in any way, although we are not big drinkers so didn’t mind the lack of alcohol during the day around the pool/beach. Beach is excellent. Wide and long with white sand, plenty of loungers and shade. We were able to swim , water was warm, a little choppy but clean and pleasant, no rocks etc. Ocean Blu restaurant very nice. On the beach with lovely views and the restaurant staff are all very good and friendly. Joseph at breakfast was particularly good. Breakfast options are plentiful , with a variety of western, Arabic, and Indian cuisines, also vegetarian/vegan option. Buffet dinner also good, as I mentioned, we visited during Ramadan and they offered an iftar buffet , with many traditional Omani foods. We booked an excursion through the on site travel agency, (Hallasalalah) who were very good and we really enjoyed our desert safari. There is a pub, we didn’t try it as not our style , looked like a ‘proper’ English pub! But it seemed popular. Drinking alcohol outside was not allowed due to Ramadan. However… Check in was a bit impersonal and rushed. We didn’t feel particularly welcomed and the information given to us regarding restaurant opening times was all a bit confusing. We also got the impression our questions annoyed the lady who checked us in. The other reviews are right; this hotel is so dated! The decor both exterior and interior feels like you’ve gone back to the 1980’s! Rooms are clean, housekeeping are great, but rooms are very shabby, and power points are in inconvenient places to charge up phones etc overnight. Obviously not a USB connection in sight. We had a twin room but only one bathrobe?! The shower was ok, water pressure and temperature good. But there’s a shower curtain rather than screen. Also the water didn’t drain, so you ended up showering ankle deep. Pool area also looks like it could use some maintenance. Broken paving stones, some trash lying around the bin area. Beach towels and sun loungers have seen better days. Wifi is patchy. Gym and Spa area very good, we believe that’s fairly new. Getting taxis outside is tricky! We wanted to book otaxis as they are generally cheaper and the app is good. However they can’t pick up directly from hotels in Oman, so you have walk a little outside the hotel. But the taxi stand across the road are super pushy, descend on you immediately, tell you you can’t use Otaxi etc etc. They quote higher prices as well. They just added stress on to our trips outside the hotel! Overall we enjoyed our stay but don’t believe this hotel is deserving of 5 stars , more like a 3 star imo. This hotel needs a serious upgrade and don’t think it justifies the prices they charge for the rooms. We might return to Salalah but don’t think we would come back to this hotel unless they radically improve.
