Eskdale Lodge

The location is a bit remote, it will be ok if you are driving car , they have 6-7 parking lots. The hotel has a bar that let you enjoy beer, good!

BE FAIR - This is a budget hotel and whilst the rooms are older and worn , THE PEOPLE ARE NICE , THE SHEETS ARE CLEAN , THE BREAKFAST WAS GREAT AND HOT , THE ROOM WAS CLEAN -THE SHOWER WAS HOT AND THE BED WAS SOFT AND COMFORTABLE - £55 for a large room in manchester when the nearest hotel costs £95-£430 - on the night i visited. They are upgrading slowly , but what do people expect . They have not put fake pictures on and you can see what you get If you want to be offended and find issues , then you will find them. I will be staying again William

This place should be closed down immediately. On arrival I turned on the fan in my room, it fell apart and badly cut my finger. When I asked for the first aid kit they couldn't find one and when they did they gave me a tiny plaster. They also didn't bother to record it in their accident book. The bathroom had black mould and the extractor fan was filthy and full of dust and fluff. A towel had a dirty brown mark on it. The wallpaper was peeling and the skirting boards were dirty. The main bar area ceiling was ripped away. The owner was apologetic but offered lame excuses, blaming the cleaner. I explained the issues went beyond the cleaner. She said the roof was leaking and rooms 7,8 and 9 always leaked. She had booked me into room 7, knowing the issues. We also asked about the restaurant to then be told the kitchen closed three months ago. When I asked how they were offering breakfast we were told it was brought in! A refund was given. This all happened in less than half hour of arrival.

This was the worst place I have ever stayed at. The carpet was dirty, wallpaper was peeling, bedding was dirty and stained, the window blind was broken, the shower was not fit for purpose, there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom, the mattress was uncomfortable, the beds were so short our feet hung over the end (I am 5ft 5 so not overly tall) but worst of all was the state of the actual quilt when I straightened the bed in the morning. We felt physically sick when we saw it. This hotel needs gutting and completely refurbishing before it can meet an acceptable standard for paid accommodation.

The Eskdale lodge is an amazing hotel the rooms are fantastic clean and spacious and the staff are friendly and helpful My vehicle broke down the morning we was leaving and Graz was the most helpful lady I cannot describe how wonderful and helpful she was she was ringing friends to get me a jump start and when that failed she took me to Halfords so I could buy some jump leads and another member of staff Maddie walked home to get her car to jump start me and get us on our way it really restored my faith in human kindness I can't thank them enough and I can honestly say when I go to Manchester again there is only one place I will be staying and that's the Eskdale lodge if I could give it 10 stars I would

Stayed 3 nights to be near family, when Premier Inn was full. Plenty of parking. Had to ring the bell to summon someone to check in. The whole building smelt musty and looked tired but very clean and comfortable. Nice bar crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings. Large bedroom and nice sized bathroom with shower over bath. All very clean. Kettle with tea, coffee, and biscuits. Central heating goes off at night, and windows are only single glazed, so the room was very cold early in the morning. Buffet Continental breakfast with choice of cereals. Would consider staying again as an alternative to Premier Inn.

Where can i start?Firstly the positives.Bed was comfy,bathroom was clean.Sadly it goes downhill from here.The headboards were badly stained,we didn't want to put our heads on them.The single bed had a nasty stain on it.There were lots of cobwebs housing multiple spiders.The tv was pixelated due to a faulty cable which we reported only to be told 'well,it was working at the weekend.'The chair was old and tatty with worn patches.My husband discovered an empty pepsi bottle behind the bedside table leading us to think the room wasn't cleaned.Even though our booking was for 3 people there was only enough towels for 2.The main issue is that you can't get ANY food here as the kitchen has been closed since last December,even though the signs outside advertise good tasty food and a sunday roast carvery.We were meant to stay another night but couldn't face it so just left.Owner was nowhere to be seen so we left our keys with the cleaner and left.Avoid this place which is nowhere near a 4* establishment!
