Golden Acqua Salou

This hotel is immaculate. The reception area is bright and clean. The reception staff and restaurant staff are professional and friendly. Our room was very clean and modern with a mini fridge and kettle. There is safe that u can hire. The bathroom was also clean and the over head shower and hand held shower was lovely pressure and hot. Toiletries are provided. Tv in room only showed 4 English channels but that was fine for us as we don't go on holiday to watch tv. We had breakfast and that was also adequate. There is a gym and indoor pool. There wasn't any evening entertainment but we went out every night as there is plenty bars and restaurants on the door step. Beach literally across the road. Only thing I would say is the hotel across the road was extremely loud but again didn't bother us some nights we sat on balcony and enjoyed it ha ha. Overall this hotel is great and we are considering coming back to this hotel with our family for our summer holidays

This was our first visit to Salou, so we didn't know the area or the hotel, but we were very pleased with both. The hotel is relatively small in comparison to most around; not faultless, but it's a decent place to stay. The room we had was a standard room, and it was plenty big enough, with a decent sized balcony. It's a very built-up area, and we didn't have much of a view, but that didn't worry us, it was still pleasant to sit out. We had large twin beds, which were pushed together and were quite comfortable. There's a fridge, kettle and cups provided in the room and a safe, but you have to pay for the safe separately. There were only a handful of British channels on the TV. The bathroom, again, is a good size, with a great walk-in shower. The housekeepers kept the room clean and tidy, and provided fresh towels every day. We stayed half-board and were a bit worried about the food, having read some reviews, but overall we were happy. Breakfast can get a bit busy at times, and you sometimes have to wait a few minutes to be shown to a table, but the waiting staff are very friendly and hard working and look after you well. The usual hot and cold breakfast selection is available, decent quality and always replenished when anything runs low. Just on odd occasions some of the items can be less than hot and I did warm up some scrambled eggs in the microwave, one morning, but overall, no complaints......apart from the toasters. Instead of the usual conveyor belt type toaster they just had two domestic pop-up toasters, which just weren't up to the job, so there were often queues for toast and I didn't bother when it was like that. Fried eggs, omelettes etc were cooked fresh for you at the hotplate. Evening meals were also very good. We thought they would have been a bit limited in variety, but they certainly weren't. One niggle was that some of the dishes weren’t labelled, so you couldn’t tell what they were. As well as the hot buffet selection there was always a cook at the hotplate, cooking steaks, burgers, fish and the like to order. Bottled water was provided free to the table, or other drinks could be ordered, and paid for at the end. The bar area and terrace were usually fairly quiet in the evening, so we enjoyed a few drinks and coffees after dinner - again the staff were very friendly. But on several evenings they did have a singer on, from about 9pm, which drew in a few more people. The bar also serves sandwiches and other hot and cold snacks during the day, which we found to be of good quality and value. We didn't use the pool itself, but it was always clean and the terrace was quite pleasant. The sunbeds were often full, but there was usually somewhere to sit with a drink etc. There is also an inside pool, gym and small games room available. The location of the hotel is quite noisy in the evening, mainly outdoor entertainment at other nearby hotels, but it didn't carry on too late, and as it is a little bit away from the resort ce

Wouldn’t go back to this hotel Very disappointed , the location was noisy and quite a steep hill to climb in the heat reception staff were extremely abrupt and unhelpful Sea view was a corner sea view on the side of the balcony for one person only , don’t pay for a sea view in advance like us ! Check it out first Management were not available or on site when required Sun beds limited and no shade near the pool Cleaners and rooms were great though Breakfast was also good and the service We shall return to Salou but not to this hotel !

Rooms overlooking main road very noisy due to traffic . limited choice of main course food and No hot plates in dining room, food was only aired, had to que to use microwave regularly Fairly steep path to hotel for anyone with walking difficulties.

Think there could be more entertainment. Nice quiet hotel, very clean. Always found something to eat that we enjoyed every day. Definitely was up a steep hill unfortunately, which we could have done without, being in our 70s! Staff very pleasant, guy in the bar very friendly. Although in school holidays, weren’t many kids there.

Fabulous weeks holiday at this hotel staff are extremely friendly. Rooms cleaned to perfection every day. Great choice at breakfast time but the hot food was not hot. However you could have fruit pastries cereal and freshly made pancakes and omelettes too.
