H10 Salou Princess

We returned to the H10 Salou Princess in September and after being a bit "disappointed" with our stay last year, I'm pleased to say that we really enjoyed our visit this time (despite being confined to the hotel for 2.5 days due to torrential rain and flooding), The room was decent, spotlessly clean and a credit to the cleaning staff. There are ample plugs and sockets and even USB ports at the bedside; the walk-in shower (which we had requested and upgraded to) was a real bonus for those of us that are no longer in the first flush of youth. The food this year was of good quality and a varied selection, so no excuse for anyone going hungry. If they can feed a fussy eater like me that is a real bonus. Pool bar snacks were excellent and although we only tried the pizza once, superb. The real bonus of the hotel though is the staff, most were recognised from our former visits and a credit to the hotel. From arrival to departure, they could not have been more friendly and helpful. Entertainment was both varied and of a decent quality, especially the Flamenco show which we really enjoyed despite it having to be held indoors due to the weather, We will definitely be returning to Salou in the future as the hotel's location is superb, an easy stroll to the beach or Old Town and within an easy bus ride to Tarragona, Reus or Cambrils for a day out if you fancy a change of scenery.

For the location of this hotel it is perfect for heading to the parks and the hotel is very quiet at nights perfect for a nice family holiday with a nice big pool. Down side when we were there it was just the start of the season so pool was very cold but it was to be expected..

H10 Salou Princess highlights several issues: a rushed check-in, a disappointing and unclean room, and an unpleasant view. The common areas felt outdated and neglected. We faced challenges securing poolside loungers and experienced long breakfast queues. The pool bar staff were unwelcoming regarding glassware, contrasting with the friendly indoor bar staff. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel, deeming it unworthy of its 4-star rating.

We have stayed in H10 hotels before so know what to expect so this experience certainly left us disappointed. The room was ridiculously tiny for a family of three. The three beds were pushed up together so you had to climb in from the end. There was no room to move and no room to pass each other when trying to get to the balcony. The shower went from freezing cold to scalding. There was also only a tiny fridge and no tea and coffee making facilities. The food was not very good. In fact at breakfast my son had a raw sausage. Luckily I managed to stop him before he ate it. Only positive was the animation team but even that wouldn't make me ever want to stay there again.

Due to check out tomorrow after a weeks holiday. Booked 2 twin rooms via TUI. Had requested quiet rooms close together, high floor with a pool view. Our rooms were next to each other on the 6th floor, which is the top floor. We did not have a pool view but this turned out to be a plus for us as our rooms were quiet and had we faced the pool I don't think this would have been the case. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. No tea/coffee making facilities so purchased a small travel kettle In a nearby shop for €15. Shower was powerful, body wash, shampoo and conditioner supplied along with hand soap. Standard small hair dryer, that lacks any real power, available in the bathroom, if like me you've thicker hair you may want to bring your own! Prior to arriving I'd seen comments and even videos about the sunbed Olympics and was dreading attempting to get a sunbed on days we wanted to spend some time around the pool.... Turned out we had absolutely no reason to worry! We never set our alarm, never joined the sunbed dash.... Infact I didn't even witness it..... I can only assume these people who race for sunbeds want, what they consider, prime spots directly beside the pool.... We preferred a quieter spot! We stayed on a half board basis, upon check in we were advised of we wished to swap our evening meal for lunch we just needed to inform reception prior to 9:30pm the day before. Breakfast had lots of choices available and I'd fail to see how someone couldn't find something they liked! Dinner was the same, I am extremely fussy/plain when it comes to food and was always able to get something. On the whole the staff were exceptional across all areas of the hotel bar 2members - an older lady in the dining room called Juania I think - she shouted at myself and my mother for not drinking the Orange juice.... I kid you not.... The other was a member of the bar staff - only saw him once during our stay and didn't catch his name but he was very rude and abrupt. The usual bar man in the main bar inside of the hotel in the reception area was lovely, always a smile and some banter - didn't catch his name but he had a bald head and he's a credit to the hotel! Location wise this hotel is perfect.... Literally a 5 min walk to the beach, the little tourist train stops across the road at the tourist centre, it's on a bus route, 10 min walk to Portaventura, lots of shops, bars, restaurants etc on hand. We absolutely loved this hotel, ignore the negative reviews.

Loved this hotel, the rooms were basic but nice with a good balcony. I wouldn’t rate the buffet awfully high but that’s coming from a fussy eater those who aren’t said it was fine. However, the pool bar is amazing & the surrounding area has heaps of fantastic restaurants and bars especially down near the beach. It’s also within 10 mins of the beach which is great for day and night. There is a supermarket just next door which is also great. The pool area has plenty sun loungers and pool was a good temp. Overall a great stay.
