Villa Santa Barbara

This place was recommended to us by Australian friends who come to Montefalco for a long time Very clean and welcoming staff. Luca, there were 2 or 3 same name. Very comfortable room with excellent bed, seperate bath and toilet. The amenities in the bathroom were ok, bath gel and shampoo had a particular smell.. The pool, large and very clean every day is one of the special attractions The breakfast was nice, choice of coockies/sweets and fruit in abundance The choice of fine cuts and cheese was poor for this category of nice hotel The most irritant issue for us was the wifi connection, although many extenders but speed was slow and sometimes not active, I guess no FIBERGLASS … The restaurant we didn’t try … Hotel was recentely taken over and name changed to Villa Santa Barbara It is a 15/20’ drive from Montefalco A small car is a must for this hotel to visit surrounding areas and excellent wineries of Sagrantino. Taxis are on call but they take profit from tourists as they have no meters and offer is limited .. Recommended place for couples that like peaceful and quiet ambiance and nice pool ! I would recommend a tour to new TABARRINI Cantina and ask for Alessandro Fashionlovers Fabiana Filipi Enoteca Sagrantino is excellent place

We stayed here for one evening as part of a cycling tour, and wish we could have stayed longer. The property is absolutely stunning, with a first-class pool and well-appointed rooms. It felt like staying on a movie set. The staff was friendly and accomodating, from the front desk to the restaurant staff. My teens were especially charmed when they realized our big-hearted server was providing food to a friendly kitten who had missed her usual meal time and was hanging around the restaurant for some pets and dinner.

Staying at Villa Santa Barbara was the most wonderful experience. From the lovely staff at reception, the dining room and at breakfast to the beautiful room and top class dining we cannot recommend it enough. We have stayed in some of the top hotels across the world and this is amongst the best we have experienced. I am fussy about hotel standards and I could not find one fault. The hotel is set in lovely gardens with views over the Umbrian countryside. It is spacious and the views from the balcony at the front are just so beautiful. The pool is clean and the gardens and grounds are immaculate. The whole hotel is beautifully maintained and the room so comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food in the restaurant is particularly good and well priced in comparison to local options. If you want a relaxing stay in a beautiful Umbrian Villa with professional staff and friendly service this is the place to come. We wish we were back!

This is a fabulous find in Umbria near Montefalco. We stayed in a Jr Suite. Everything was beyond our expectations. The room was lovely and very large - with a huge balcony, walk in closet and sitting area. We got excellent advise from the front desk for restaurants and wineries to tour. The pool area looks straight out of a movie set ! The breakfast was delicious as is the restaurant for dinner on site. We look forward to staying there again !

The warm welcome and big smile of Mariapia and her team at breakfast is the nec plus ultra start of the day. What is served at breakfast is home made, passion translated in great cakes, jam, scrambled eggs...you cannot dream a better start of your day. The spacious rooms, the well maintained garden, the very elegant dinner...you can only enjoy to the full...and hope you can come back soon

We have been coming here for years and this was our first visit since Villa Zuccari was sold to new owners. All the management staff is the same and they are excellent. We would come to Villa Zuccari for the peace, quiet and tranquility and we would always find it here. In fact years ago we wrote a TripAdvisor review of the highest possible rating. Under the new management there is now one "innovation" that we will not tolerate. There is now loud rock music blasting in the lobby...yes, you guessed it, the stupid predictable obnoxious American rock "music". We actually would come to the Villa to escape this kind of trash. Well, we will NOT be coming anymore. The new management has ruined what was once a heavenly oasis.
