La Posta Hotel & Thermal Spa

A wonderful setting amongst the rolling Tuscany hills. Old fashioned luxury with a quality of service which is rare in hotels. these days. This is truly a wonderful hotel. The hot thermal spring pools are pure luxury and we really didn’t want to leave. We ate dinner on one evening. A special mention to the waiter who prepared and served the steak tartar, a consummate professional! The food was traditional Tuscan and prepared to a high standard. We really enjoyed staying at this well established hotel, it reminded us of how hotels used to be, where hospitality is done properly.

I would not recommend this hotel for the following reasons. The staff attitude was very elite. My room was very warm and stuffy, and there were no screens on the windows which I understand in an old hotel. I had to take bugs off my pillow to go to sleep therefore, the windows did not remain open. I went downstairs to ask if they controlled the air conditioning And the gentleman said yes what temperature do you want. When I went back upstairs, heat was coming out. The next morning, I asked at reception again if they could put the air conditioning on. She said it was not possible because it was past October one. Then she proceeded to say I know you, Americans like your air conditioning, but it is not possible! I took offense to that. I have been in Italy four times and stayed at at least 20 hotels. All in October and never had an issue with air conditioning. In fact, the next hotels I stayed at which were further in October all had the air conditioning on.

Good old traditions Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel had everything we needed and we felt immediately at home. We would definitely come back.
