Arenal Rustic Lodge

A real hidden gem for relaxing quiet amid exotic birds and beautiful grounds with mainained foot paths. It is rustic but also comfortable, with a modern bathroom, and very clean. Good AC in the room. No TV. Good internet coverage. Cabins are well spaced and positioned for privacy. Breakfast on their terrace is a treat for birders! Laundry service available and reasonable! It's just a mile or two from town with good roads. There is also a night tour available on the property with a local guide. The hosts are very accomdating, and can arrange transportation in the Arenal area and to other places. We loved our 2 nights and will be returning.

I’ve stayed in a lot of treehouses in Costa Rica, and this was by far the best one. Gorgeous view of the jungle, with the sounds of so many birds and other creatures. The treehouse (villa) was beautiful inside,clean, and had all that we needed. It is a family business, and they run it well. Very helpful in finding a hot spring to go to, in suggesting hikes around the area. I would recommend Arenal Rustic Lodge.

We were absolutely delighted to find this little gem! We wanted something tree house like and these lovely wooden bungalows tucked into the edge of the rainforest certainly delivered. We sat and watched hummingbirds from our balcony along with countless other beautiful birds and lizards. We took an evening tour, walking straight from our front door into the rainforest and saw sloths, including a mum and young baby!!!! Our guide was full of facts about the local plants and animals and there is no way we would have spotted the sloths without his help. A simple Costa Rican breakfast was included and the staff/family were all welcoming and helpful. The room itself was basic but included a bathroom and fridge. If I had to make any criticism it would be that they started with the chainsaws pretty early in the morning as they are in the process of building a beautiful new dining area but it by no means tainted our experience. If you are looking for a true Costa Rica experience, rather than a large resort type hotel, then this is the place for you!!

What a fun stay in the jungle! Saw lots of hummingbirds, frogs, lizards. It felt good to support a family owned business, you can really tell they love to help and give the best experience. They’re up and coming but awesome cabins. Breakfast was delicious and a perfect amount every morning with fresh coffee. It is a bit of a distance from downtown La Fortuna but the Uber was like $4. Shower was great and spacious. AC worked great and we slept very comfortably. We did a night tour there and they even helped us with a great price with other excursions. Over fun jungle stay!

The cabins are perfect getaway from the day to day grind, and the family is amazing. Breakfast was delicious and perfect for fueling up for a long day of adventures. We stayed for three nights and the experience was excellent all around. From our balcony we spotted hummingbirds, sloths, tucans, squirrels, lightning bugs, and all kinds of other animals. What a beautiful place with excellent service. Breakfast was excellent too! The gallo pinto and eggs was always delicious. In addition to the great accommodations, Juvenal and his family had great recommendations for adventures. 5/5 would stay here again.

Very good experience…bungalow cleaned and staff muy muy gentil….location completely full to the nature …amazing ! Private parking. Only some note…are necessary maybe some carry clothes and at least some chairs…
