Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sandusky

We liked our stay at Candlewood suites as it was just the right one for us. We could spend a relaxed stay with all basic amenities. It is close to the factory outlets so a good option to stay and shop to your heart’s desire.

This hotel is dirty, the carpet is old. I don't appreciate the upgrade to a suite to be placed on the old side of the building.I have stayed in Holiday Inn Express before, but this is no way close to what we know. It is not cheap for what does it offer

On our route making it easy to find, lots of vehicle parking, great staff, clean common areas, clean and comfortable room. My wife hasn't stopped raving about how great the place was. She keeps saying "I would give it 5 Stars." There is a reason I stay at this brand when I travel for work and for the same reason I stay in the same brand if at all possible when I travel with friends. Breakfast was a great assortment, something for everyone and no shortage of supply. We arrived too late and departed to early to visit the pool.

We saw this place on the way into Cedar Point. We stayed a weekend in the deluxe cabins at Lighthouse Point and on the way out, decided to stop and eat. This lead to our server helping us get a room at this hotel on the fly. This place is awesome. The Bowling, food, the hotel rooms, the staff, everything. We needed a day to unwind after cedar point before the 5 hour ride home and this was the perfect place to do that. Highly recommend you stay here before Cedar Point but it's definitely worth staying after as well. Will stay here again if ever back in Sandusky. They have "quiet zone" signs on the room floors that people respect. I did not hear a single slam, yell or any disruption during our stay.

I was very disappointed in my experience with this property, but I really should have expected it. This hotel is located at the entrance of Cedar Point. It is also just a mile or so away from Sports Force Park and Cedar Point Sports Center. All that adds up to A LOT of excited children in the hotel who generally believe sound doesn’t travel past their own personal space. In addition, the walls at this hotel are PAPER THIN. Voices in the adjacent rooms were clearly audible, every door slam, every footstep and conversation in the hall was as though it was right there in our room! Worst HIE experience for noise I have ever experienced, but as I noted, I should have expected it. That’s on me. As far as positives, the front desk staff was very friendly and efficient. The breakfast was hot and well-stocked. It was very busy and the attendant was working very hard to make sure everyone had enough food. That was commendable. Obviously, location was also excellent - couldn’t be more central to the activities. My advice is to avoid this hotel at all costs. Unless you have an 8am match at Sports Force and need to be close, I would suggest staying 20-30 miles away. This hotel is INSANELY expensive and you will be disappointed that you spent that much money to keep from driving 1/2 hour to the park, plus you’ll get no sleep. My family and I will never use this hotel again. AVOID!

Left the bedbug Comfort Inn and found refuge here at IHG hotels. The hotel is so clean!! Bonus - The staff are friendly and kind. The rooms are clean, modern and spacious with fridge/ microwave/closet and dim lighting. Fitness center and pool are up to date. It is quiet and safe.

This is a well located hotel to enjoy Cedar Point as it is right at the causeway. We booked an executive suite to have a balcony, much to our surprise the executive suite was huge. The room was very clean and offered a great balcony that would be perfect on a warm summer evening. There was a good sized fridge and a microwave. The staff were all very friendly, check in and out went well, even with a large group trying to check in at the same time. The breakfast was typical continental breakfast with eggs, bacon and sausage as well as a pancake machine. I would definitely book the hotel again if in town.

It's your basic Holiday Inn Express complete with 2 pancake machines and meat centric breakfast. Despite that, we (vegetarian) got breakfast and coffee. Relatively quiet night. There are two Level 2 Tesla chargers, and only one was operational. It recharged our 2018 X100D at its maximum AC charging rate of 72 AMPS (16kW). Could be dicey if more than one person needs to charge at the same time, so please unplug and move car when your charging is complete.

We were hesitant to stay here after reading the negative reviews. We requested the renovated wing and stayed in room 524. Excellent mattress and pillows. Room darkening shades provided a good nights sleep. Breakfast was great…large selection of food. Biscuits and gravy, pancake machine, fresh oatmeal, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, bagels etc. There were several kitchen helpers who were constantly wiping and cleaning . Great coffee too!!
