Hotel Fischer

Wonderful stay at Hotel Fischer. Great location, friendly and attentive staff (everyone was lovely, reception, breakfast service, cleaners, and Nathan in the bar!), delicious breakfast. The hotel definitely has a family-owned feel with care for its guests at its heart.

All the reviews are true! This is a wonderful hotel that makes you feel like part of the family. The rooms are perfect, the location beautiful and ideal for trips out, the food is plentiful and tasty but best of all are the owners and staff who make it work so well. Really nice touch that you get the same reserved table for breakfast each morning and the bar area has a really welcoming feel. As many reviews have said Nathan is a fantastic host in the bar full of helpful advice and good chat. We came armed with things to keep the kids amused in the evening but the atmosphere and conversation in the bar meant we didn’t need any of it and in fact they wanted to go there as much as we did! Special mention also to Sinead who really helped with her local knowledge and her Irish charm which endeared her to us all and especially our daughter. We are already planning on coming back. Amazing service experienced from check in, and the hotel staff do everything they can to make your skiing trip easy, which is exactly what skiiers need! It felt like a home-from-home and we can't wait to return in 2026. Rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and warm. We had a balcony and bathroom with spacious shower cubicle. Shower gel & soap are provided. Beds are Austrian doubles - king size and super-comfy. Breakfast was extensive with a mix of hot & cold buffet items including bacon and eggs. The snacks provided between 3pm-5pm (toasted sandwiches or soup) were an added bonus, along with free water. Free entry to the pool complex was fantastic, and towels are provided to hire for €5 per week, with a refund of €3 when returned. Great atmosphere in Michi's bar. Nathan was so welcoming and provided tips on what to do and where to eat to maximise our stay. Lots of bars and restaurants close by but booking is essential. We didn't use the sauna or infa-red cabin. All in all a wonderful trip, only marred by being woken up at 5am on the day we left by the traders setting up market stalls (no falut of the hotel).

Hotel Fischer is a lovely family run hotel. The atmosphere in the hotel is homely and comfortable and they couldn't do enough to make sure we had a great time. The cleaning staff were lovely, breakfast was delicious and the beds were really comfortable. Nathan in the bar looked after us very well and it was an all round delightful experience. The st Johann card you get on arrival has great benefits, in particular free entry to the local pool which is fantastic. We were there with our three year old as well as some friends who didn't have children. The hotel catered excellently both for them to stay up in the bar and make a night of it whilst also managing to be incredibly family friendly for our toddler. Would recommend.

We have just returned from the Fischer, and are already looking at dates to return!. What a fantastic hotel this is!. Michael, Monika and their family are excellent hosts, and the entire staff cannot do enough for you. Special mention must go to Nathan at Miki's Bar. He is a credit to the place and good fun to chat with after a day on the slopes. The hotel is spotless with lovely, large comfortable rooms. The breakfasts are superb, and set you up for a day's skiing- an added bonus is the afternoon soup/toasts that the hotel puts on every afternoon which ives you a little boost, just when you need it. The hotel is ideally centralised in the village, and you never have far to walk. 10-15 minutes to the Gondola, with plenty of skiing at St Johann to keep most intermediates happy for a week. You can go to nearby Steinplatts and other smaller resorts, free by bus if you wish. These areas are included in your regional pass. A free train pass allows you to venture further afield if you fancy a day away from the slopes- Kitzbuhel is a mere 12 minutes away by train. ( If you want to ski there, please remember to buy the superski pass, as a day in Kitzbuhel is 70 euros per person) The hotel is B&B basis only, but there are several superb restaurants a short walk away- Please check out the Huber-Brau for the views and the food, and Finks for a special meal out ( not cheap but delicious) This family-run gem is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, and is thoroughly deserving of every wonderful review it receives. A superb hotel in the centre of the village and a great service by all the team. Next to all the shops, cafe's and restaurants and just a short walk to the slopes. I would definately recommend staying here The most comfortable bed I have slept in for many years and a super breakfast in the morning. A great little bar as well to watch the sport
