Aparthotel Das Alpenhaus Katschberg

Pros: Great apartment and everything clean. Ski in ski out which saves a lot of time and is convenient Good pool area On site restaurant good with friendly staff. Reception staff friendly. Cons: There aren’t enough pegs for boots in the boot room. Beware if you are on an evening flight. There is no lounge and no facilities for waiting apart from a couple of sofas in the lobby. It is apparently impossible to have a late check out.

Never in my life have I been treated so bad on a ski trip, as I was this year in january. I was appalled by the attitude and behavior of Das Alpenhaus staff, as well as the general management of the whole Katschberg resort (which I recommend you avoid entirely). This is a short summary, as the whole review is huge: - they don't clear the snow off of the roads in Katschberg, so our car almost crashed on the way there - if you get stuck on a frozen road they didn't clean, and call this hotel for help, they will send some sketchy guy with a tractor to drag you up the hill, and charge you 50€ for that (without telling you upfront, and without giving you a receipt for that) - it's hard to realize where exactly are you allowed, and where aren't you allowed to park in front of this hotel. That is partially because the parking lot is covered in 30 cm of snow. After you manage to find out where you are supposed to park, you will have to shovel the snow yourself - You will get charged 6€ per day for an outdoor parking you cleaned yourself (while being the hotel's guest). This price is 4€ higher than the price stated in the book in your room, so I'm not sure this is even legal. - You won't have enough power sockets, toilet paper, or soap in your apartment - good luck buying them tho, as the only shop in Katschberg is open 4 days a week for a few hours. - The reception is open only until 4 pm, so good luck getting anything after that. - If you experience any problems, or even traumatic experiences, don't expect the reception staff to show any kind of empathy and helpfulness. - attached you can find photos of roads in Katschberg 3 days after last snowfall I don't know where to begin, so I will try to shorten it, from the beginning. While arriving, as we exited the highway and started driving uphill towards Katschberg, we noticed the road wasn't cleared of snow. And I'm not talking fresh snow that fell to fast to be cleared up, but layers and layers of a whole day's worth of snow. At some point our 4 wheel drive SUV couldn't go on anymore, so we called our hotel, das alpenhaus, for help. They told us they're sending someone to drag us up with a tractor. At that moment I was still shocked by the fact that people in Katschberg don't plough their roads, but positively surprised by the fast response of our hotel to send someone to help us. While waiting for the tractor, there came a bus from the other direction that couldn't get past us, so some guys got out of the bus and helped us move the car by manual force. Big mistake, as the car started sliding down the icy road, towards another car behind us, my friends still in the car screaming for their lives. I was witnessing the moments before the disaster. Miraculously, our car stopped just before hitting the other car and tumbling into the stream by the road. The bus guys just got back into the bus, and the bus left. After another 10 minutes of freezing, as the day was getting darker, the wind was starting to blow

Location is perfect, you ski from the ski room and come back from slopes to ski room. They have a children playroom and pool, lots of entertainment for small children. Spa is also nice. Rooms are extra clean, beds are comfy, even couches are comfy. Closets are big and functional. Kitchen is well equipped, refrigerators in apartments are spacious. They even have a dishwasher. You get kitchen cloths, detergent and dishwasher tablets.

Great location of this aparthotel as it is located directly at ski slope access. So it features ski-in / ski-out, it is modern and very clean. It has a great adjoining restaurant with self-service breakfast and a la carte lunch/dinner. SPA features pool, sauna and steam bath (only whirlpool is missing).

Mooi appartementencomplex in St. Michael im Lungau. Ruime en moderne kamers. Verbeterpunt in onze appartement was in de keuken; de plek van de wasbak en kraan. Zo ver in de hoek van de hoekkeuken en onder een keukenkastje zodat je er eigenlijk niet goed bij kon. Vreemde plek. In de kelder van het complex zit een zwembad van redelijk formaat en er is een grote speelkamer voor kinderen waar van alles te vinden is. Naast het restaurant een groot terras om heerlijk in de zon te zitten.

Nach 15 Jahren Funimation Hotel (auch ein sehr nettes all inklusive hotel auf der anderen Seite des Ortes) wollten wir etwas neues ausprobieren da wir mit einem Kleinkind unterwegs sind. Wir waren wirklich super begeistert und haben unser neues Stammhotel gefunden! Wir waren 3 Erwachsene, 1 Kind unter 3 waren in der mittleren März Woche da. Es war recht wenig auf den Pisten los aber das Hotel ausgebucht. Das Apartment: Wir hatte das Apartment L und es war perfekt für die Anzahl der Gäste und besonders toll dass es 2 Bäder gibt. Sehr neu und modern eingerichtet. Wohnküche war perfekt für ein gemeinsames Frühstück und Abendessen. Die Küche war mit den Basic gut eingerichtet. Es empfiehlt von zu Hause seine Koch Favoriten mitzunehmen aber an sich ist alles da. Rezeption & Reservierung: wow! Der Umschlag an Gästen ist enorm hoch und trotzdem fühlt man sich als Gast mit allen Anliegen und fragen willkommen. Von der Reservierung bis zum check out, hat mir die Rezeption am besten gefallen! Ski Verleih: direkt im Haus und ein super nettes Team und faire Preise. Sauberkeit: top top top! Die Gastro: das Restaurant im Haus hat sehr leckere Pizza und die Käsespätzle waren auch ein Traum von Käse. Besonders hat uns gefallen dass man mittags auf der Sonne Terrasse sitzen kann aber auch auch die Pizza take away mir aufs Zimmer nehmen kann, was besonders mit kleinen Kind nach einen schönen Tag praktisch ist. Der Spa: der Pool war sehr nett (wichtig für Reisende ohne Kinder, es ist in der Rush hour 15-17 wirklich eher ein Kinder Pool ;). Die Sauna und die kneipp duschen waren sehr angenehm. Kleine und wahrscheinlich eher subjektive Kritikpunkte: Das Wasser im Pool und die Raumtemperatur könnten ein bisschen wärmer sein, wenn die Energiepreise es wieder zulassen der Sauna & Spa. Vielleicht eine schwierige Kritik aber ich versuche es mal zu formulieren. Es waren viele Gäste die sich nicht wirklich an das Sauna “Etikett” gehalten haben zb Textilfrei beachten, viel lautes reden etc. ich weiß das Hotel kann nix dafür aber vielleicht kann man nochmal mit Bildern auf Ruhe zb aufmerksam machen. Außerdem waren die Ruheräume nicht nicht gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Betten sie neu sie auch sind, haben uns irgendwie nicht 100% gepasst bzw wir hatten n ihr den oh sind das mega netten Eindruck.
