La Iguana Perdida

We stayed in suite one which has a view of the lake and loved our stay! The grounds are so beautiful and the lake & volcano view made for a relaxing stay. The common room was gorgeous and the dogs are friendly. The staff was helpful and responsive. Loved taking their private boat to the nearby villages.

La fortuna is just a dream! One of the most unique places I’ve stayed. The food was good and I enjoyed meeting the other travelers during dinner! We kayaked which was a lot of fun and woke up every morning to the stunning views. I had wanted to come here for years and so glad I finally did. The staff was so kind and helpful.

Well,how should I start? This place is magic and we are surely coming back here.The internet pictures don't do it justice, it's picture perfect! The location is so beautiful! It's very much booked out most of the time but we got lucky to be able to spend two nights here. We stayed in a small bungalow #3 very privately in the back of the property and it was magic. We fell in love with the outdoor bathroom and the natural surroundings.The staff is super friendly and very helpful. They'll explain everything right after the booking is completed and there's no guessing. Breakfast and dinner were very delicious and easy to order online. The coffee is out of this world. We weren't able to use the kayaks or the paddle boards nor the sauna due to our timeframe exploring the villages nearby but will make time for it in future visits.

AMAZING! I planned my trip to La Fortuna for an entire year and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. I went with a group of girlfriends from around the world and celebrated my 30th birthday. Everyones jaws DROPPED when we got our first glimpse of the property from the boat, and they stayed dropped as we got a tour of our rooms! We stayed in Suite 1, Petite Bungalow 3&4, and Deluxe Suite 5. Every room was perfect and we played musical showers because we wanted to experience all of the outdoor bathrooms! The hotel staff were so kind, caring, and accommodating. We created a group chat with them and they were incredibly responsive. Big shout out to Oscar and Liza, they made us feel right at home!! We spent our days relaxing in the mornings - don't forget to book a massage! In the afternoons we would hop over to the other cities and explore. Overall, this was an amazing stay and I would highly recommend La Fortuna Atitlan for solo trips, girls trips, family trips, or couple trips!!

This place is lush and beautiful. We were lucky enough to find this gem on a whim. It’s one of the coolest places we’ve have ever stayed. It’s tucked away in a little cove, beautiful bungalows and grounds. Service and hospitality go the distance. A Sauna in an old VW van! Yes please. So funky and so cool. If you are on Lake Atitlán and looking for a serious battery recharge…This is the place!

We enjoyed our stay of 1 night! We signed up for the dinner which was really good and fun. Almost everyone at the hotel attended the group dinner. There were animation, games and a quiz. Would definitely recommend to stay there if you are in Santa Cruz.

This hotel is *magical* and quickly became one of my all-time favorite destinations. There are so many thoughtful touches everywhere you turn. The owners have obviously put a lot of thought and love into every aspect of the facilities. The staff members were ACES ALL AROUND (as were both the food and the craft cocktails). I was there on my own and it was a blissfully peaceful respite, but I knew as soon as I got there that I will go back with my husband at the first available opportunity. I. Loved. This. Place.

So beautiful and such a unique stay, I can’t wait to go back! La Fortuna felt like a unique, luxury experience and the perfect place to relax/unwind. Service is amazing and the staff is so kind. It was easy to get to La Fortuna, we booked a private boat to get to the hotel ($15). Really liked that the resort was in a remote location and only guests could enter the hotel.

This was the perfect peaceful honeymoon paradise. Would come here again. Definitely worth the stay! The staff was friendly and kind and the food was healthy and delicious. Loved that we didn’t even have to leave the room, room service was amazing!! Definitely recommend for a romantic getaway!
