Inn of the Turquoise Bear

We enjoyed our stay at the Inn. A snowstorm blew in during our stay which made for some great scenery. We even stayed an extra day as the freeways became impassible. Most nights we liked setting a fire in our fireplace. We even made s’mores one evening with a kit provided by the Inn. The staff was very helpful and gave us tips about Santa Fe to help us get the most out of our stay. We enjoyed our talks with them and they made sure that all of our needs were met. We were always the first to arrive at 5 PM for wine hour. We also enjoyed meeting and talking to other guests. Every morning was a different breakfast and each was delicious. They even made me decaf coffee, which was available all day along with assorted snacks, cookies, and other items. We would certainly stay here again in the future.

The Inn of the Turquoise Bear is a quintessential Santa Fe B&B & an exceptional stay a mile from Historic Santa Fe plaza. Inn keepers Dan & Caitlin were very accommodating, providing special touches in the beautiful lobby & unique rooms. Breakfast was exceptional. Its rich history abounds with beautiful grounds & intimate gardens to relax. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The team at the Inn of the Turquoise Bear has thought of everything a modern traveler can wish for! A traditional 200-year-old adobe estate that is charming, tastefully decorated, and a brief walk to downtown provides for a very unique experience. Great breakfast. Evening wine reception. Wonderful, attentive staff. The inn keepers are sincerely interested in making your stay the best. We stay in many inns and B&B’s. Without any hesitation, this is the best. This place is super cute and authentically well decorated! Warm and friendly staff that provided great recommendations on activities, restaurants and attractions. The bed was very comfortable with amazing linens and the area is nice and quiet. I had no idea what to expect with the breakfast and we ended up being completely blown away. A deluxe breakfast starter buffet with a house-made entrée each day that alternates sweet and savory.  Eggs to order or huevos rancheros were always available as an alternative to the daily offering. This is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay with amazing breakfast that is within walking distance to the plaza.

This was a magical stay - the cozy and clean rooms are filled with rich local character and wonderful linens, the gardens enchanting, with mountain views were peaceful. We need to return in summer so we can enjoy them. It was cold when we stayed but our room and the common rooms were warm and cozy! The breakfasts were innovative, very tasty and memorable. A daily smoothie starter was a unique touch.  They make all of their food in-house and we had to buy their cookbook so we could try to replicate what we enjoyed at home. We were lucky as the owner Dan was our host for two of our three mornings and when able would sit at the breakfast table and chat with the guests.  Wonderful stories of the history of the estate and of Santa Fe.  The entire staff was so attentive and gracious.  We will be back!

You are never sure if the actual place will live up to the pictures, but trust me, Inn of the Turquoise Bear does. The breakfast was definitely the highlight and a part of why we chose to stay here. Each morning featured a different main breakfast, smoothie, and baked good. If that wasn't to your taste, they also offered eggs your way and a full buffet bar of breakfast items. My husband and I were on a brief elopement trip and the Inn keepers were wonderful in accommodating any requests or needs we had. The rooms were clean and tidy, I loved the décor and the efforts to stay true to the history of the estate. The rooms have working fire places that are set for use each night. They even reset the fireplaces each day for guests to use each night of their stay. It was fantastic. I was inspired to buy Pinon Pine incense in town because I enjoyed the smell so much. There isn't a coffee or tea pot in the room, but the main house is stocked with tea, coffee, and snacks all hours of the day, with that space being open 24/7. Our room was off the main house a little bit, but it was an easy extra 10 steps to get to the tea pot (plus grab a cookie for the evening). The Inn was maybe a extra two blocks away from the main downtown area of Santa Fe, an easy distance from restaurants and shops. We had no concerns about walking to and from the Inn at night. You could probably walk to Museum Hill from the Inn, we opted to make the 5 minute drive since I had worn the wrong shoes walking around town that morning. We stayed in the Georgia O'Keefe room, and one of the prints is a personal favorite of mine, so I had a big smile when we walked in. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are likely to go back for an anniversary trip! (Plus, they gave us cookies for the drive home and they were very tasty)
