Hotel Metropole

This was one of our favorite hotels we’ve ever stayed in. The location was perfect-very walkable, but still quiet. The hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel at home.

The hotel smells like mold we booked a junior suite was the most horrifying experience we lasted 15 min we ran away as I had a hastma crisis and went to the ER then checked in a stunning hotel close by.we were charged and they didn’t even offered a refund SHAME

In September we really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Metropole SML! Hotel has nice rooms and the staff was so accommodating. The property is conveniently located with an easy walk to the train station, ferry pier and the main town as well as a perfect home base for touring Cinque Terre & Portofino. The hotel overlooks the bay with lush gardens and pool. The breakfast buffet on the terrace was the icing on the cake. We hope to come back soon!

Hotel Metropole is one of the best hotels in all of Italy! My wife and I returned for the 3rd straight year in a row (all the way from San Diego, California, U.S.) because of the incredible beauty of the hotel and manicured landscape, fitness spa for my wife, spectacular location on the Mediterranean Sea (located near beautiful Portofino), wonderful hotel restaurant, and of course the very friendly hotel management and staff who always treats us as if family and the hotel always accommodates our request for a special nostalgic room during our stay! My wife and I had a Fantastic week at this hotel with breakfast and evening meal . The waterfront location and beautiful landscaped gardens make it a stunning setting ,we had an excellent room with a balcony overlooking the bay. The hotel staff were all so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for you . The breakfast choice was vast and the four course waiter served evening meal something to really look forward to after a days sight seeing . It’s a great location for visiting the Cinque Terre , portofino and Camogli, there is a train station near the hotel but we used the ferries and local buses to get around . We are looking forward to visiting this hotel again in the near future.

The Hotel metropole is in a good location just a few minutes walk from the shops and restaurants and centre of Santa Margherita Ligure. The hotel has parking although it’s quite expensive what’s good is you don’t have to worry about parking you leave your keys with reception and they will sort it out for you. When we left the concierge brought the car to hotel front door for us which was a nice thing to do. The hotel has a lovely outdoor pool and you can also use the indoor pool, sauna and steam room in the spa you just need to book a slot. We were told the slot was for an hour but we weren’t hurried at all. The gardens are really well kept and look amazing. There is also a sunbathing area right on the sea with access to swim in the sea as well. Our room was really clean and well maintained and some traditional features had been kept which helped with character of the room. The room overlooked the pool and garden and had a spacious balcony to sit and admire the view. The hotel includes breakfast which was a good selection and kept well topped up and provided a good start to the day. The hotel has a nice restaurant although we didn’t eat there the menu had a good choice and there is a bar down by the sea which was nice for drinks. Santa Margherita is a lovely town with lots of shops and restaurants and you can get the ferry to Portofino and Rapallo. We walked to Portofino which took about 1hr walking slowly and has great views along the way.

We always stay in metropole where possible and stayed in the Sicily one last summer they don’t disappoint. Excellent hotel, great location nice rooms staff were amazing and helped us check in early pool was nice and clean breakfast was good too, only bad thing I have to say is we payed for a sea view room and was more of a tree view room which was abit disappointing never the less we would recommend

A really nice hotel with excellent views across the bay, the staff were friendly and welcoming, breakfast was very good with a wide selection of food, outside the pool area is clean and inviting. The lift to the third floor where our room was located was quite small and dated but it added to the charm of the hotel.
